you will be missed :(.
And now what you have all been awaiting...my star wars review....haha.

Star Wars (2005, Director George Lucas) A

Yes of course I'm partly biased here but i'm not going to hide that. The acting in this one is much better than the first two, that said it is still nothing exceptional. There are cheesy lines, but there are a few in all 6 star wars movies. Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't. Ian McDiarmid and Ewan McGregor steal the movie acting wise. It has the awesome battle scenes that we all know star wars to have, and the drama to keep you on the edge of your seat. There were two things that I think they kinda just threw in without better explanation, but they needed them to connect the stories.

I think this movie ties up the new and old trilogies quite nicely, with a few minor flaws that only uber nerds think about...hence i have. One question that a lot of people have asked is how can the two connect when the new trilogy looks so much more futuristic compared to the old ones? This is what I came up with, in the old trilogy look at the main planets that each has, tatoonie, hoth, and endor. What do they all have in common? They are quite primitive and desolate. Secondly, the old trilogy focuses on the rebellion, which doesn't have a real planetary home, like how the empire does. Because of this the rebellion probably doesn't have all the great technological advances that the empire does. The only time we really get to see the empire is aboard a space ship, not much you can do there.

Lucas had said that 60% of his prequel ideas were in episode 3 and you can really tell, as i think it is a much more thought out story. Anakin's turn may have seen quite fast, but if you watched the Clone Wars (A for animation) or read any of the novels (Labyrith of Evil) you will see that it was a lot more than what was just presented on the screen.

For me personally this movie was exactly what I needed, it showed everything that I wanted to see, solved the endless question of why the suit, why no jedi, why the emperor is jacked up, etc. I'm happy cause I got to see it all and look forward to the day (and yes there will be a day) when I watch all 6 episodes in a row. Although episodes 1 and 2 were not the best, they are part of the saga and thus will one day be a part of my collection, when a mega collector's edition of the movie is released.

I guess my life is now complete and I will now go lay down and become one with the force......

the force will be with me.....always.
(M) Mad Hot Ballroom (Marilyn Agrelo, 2005). Grade: A-/B+. Documentary about New York elementary school children who enter a ballroom dancing competition. Enjoyable at best; You can't help but laugh as the children ballroom dance, and discuss their lives (the opposite gender, school, family). New Wave mentioned she got a little motion sick w/ the camera movements, but I didn't really notice it.

(M) Madagascar (Eric Darnell, Tom McGrath, 2005). Grade: C-/D+. Boring! I think you truly had to be 4 years old to enjoy it.

(O) Getting asked if you are the mother of your 15 and 17 year old cousins (Puente Hills Mall, Memorial Day). Grade: F-. In my defense, the person who asked (a 14 year old classmate of my cousins) didn't even look at me or even glance in my direction. He just saw someone in the corner of his eye standing next to his friends and assumed I was their mom. As if! I told my cousins to tell him that I'm beating him up after school today at 3:00. Grrrr! (It is funny though!!)

(O) Perry and Roger exiting the Cure. (2005, Bands) Grade: F-
Thoughts: It hurts. It really hurts. I'm actually surprised at how sad I am. As long as I have been a fan of the Cure I have had this line up. It is just odd to think the next time I go to a Cure show I won't see Roger at the right and Perry on the left. (sigh). And the way the Roger and Perry found out. According to Roger's site it sounded like he was told to pack his stuff and not come back. It makes sense though because I know Robert and Roger were not getting along but still. Geez how do you just can your old friend and band mate. As for Perry I have no idea what happened there. I guess Robert just thought he only needed one guitarist. I love Perry though. He was my favorite and I hope he continues working on some great projects. I know Roger is with his new album Grey Clouds Red Sky. My heart really is breaking into a million pieces.

Friday, May 27

well my worst fear has come true. Perry and Roger have left the Cure. :(

i want to cry but i can't because i'm at work :(. my heart is breaking into a million pieces. i just read something that if i find out is true will make me beyond sad. (sigh).

Fox 11 News at 10: Grade A+
Last night after the American Idol Finale on the Fox 11 news they were interviewing Constantine and asked him if he could kick as high as the camera. He said he didn't think he could kick that high. They said, "Go ahead and try." Constantine then swings his leg up with so much momentum that he falls backwards right on his ASS!!! HAHA!!! IDIOT!!!! I loved it. This idiot who makes stupid faces and kicks at camera's finally did what I always hoped to see... him flat on his ass on television. It would have been even better if it happened during the Finale show but I was just happy to see it. You're a winner in my book Constantine. HAHA!

(TV) Vanessa Marcil leaving "Las Vegas". grade: F

Just finished watching the season finale to NBC's "Las Vegas", in which Vanessa Marcil's character, Sam, quit because her ex was buying the casino. She was the only reason I watched the show. I hope she doesn't disappear again (could she be returning to "Genereal Hospital"? Hmmm, that'd be great but highly unlikely).
On a side note: she's on the Maxim cover for the Hot 100 list. awesome, i need to pick up that issue.
(M) Koma. (2004, Chi-Leung Law) Grade: C+
Thoughts: A thriller/horror flick done Asian style. Chi Ching (Angelica Lee) is a rich Hong Kong socialite living it up with her smart doctor boyfriend. Enter Suen Ling (Kar Yan Lam) who is also banging Chi's boyfriend behind her back. They become the best of friends and organs are stolen. Well more like just one organ in particular - the kidney. Overall pretty entertaining but not mind blowing.

(M) Enron: The Smartest Guys In the Room. (2005, Alex Gibney) Grade: B+
Thoughts: I remember reading about the Enron scandal back in 2001/2002 when it was unfolding. The emotions for one of the biggest corporate scandals in America ranged from anger, horror, disgust, fear and more anger. The movie does a good job so showing how Enron fell and all the lies and debt behind the company but I did feel it was dumbed down a bit for the audience. The film used images and popular songs to drive their points across. One review I read stated the film was more Democratic proganda which I can see. However, even with my little hang-ups the film is a must see if anything for a look into corporate America and how money, power and greed can change people.

(M) Star Wars: Episode III - Revenage of the Sith. (2005, George Lucas) Grade: B
Thoughts: So it all comes to this - the last (well maybe not) Star Wars movie and the birth of Darth Vadar. I can honestly say I was expecting nothing from this film. After all there was so much talk and continous reviews going up on the film weeks in advance I was getting pretty tired of the whole thing. If you are expecting the storyline to make sense then don't see this movie, if you want great dialogue then don't see this movie and if you are expecting Oscar worthy acting then save your money. However, if you are looking for a good action flick with lots of battle scenes, good vs. evil, Yoda, Wookies and everything that made Star Wars the money machine it is then yes go see this film and you will have an enjoyable time - like me.

(M) Team America, World Police, Grade: C
I had heard great things about this movie and how damn hilarious it was. I thought it had moments, but it really wasn't all that great to me. The puppeteering stuff was cool and it's impressive how they do that, though I was impressed with the puppeteering in Being John Malkovich and it was brief. The South Park movie was 100 times better in my opinion. I wouldn't ever recommend this movie to anyone but I wouldn't say stay away either.

(M) Star Wars III (the 6th one.. the last one... whatever) Grade: B
I will give this a B because it's not as good as the first 3 which would be A's, but it's not a D like the first one(fourth one) nor a C like the 2nd one (fifth one). The effects were great but great effects make no sense to me in these movies because it's like saying as time progresses things get worse. How do you go from the effects in the latest star wars to the effects in the 1977 Star Wars? It's not logical.
Anyway... this was a dark one I guess. I thought they went to way too many planets. The story could have been done in less environments (like the first 3). The dialogue was as bad as ever when it came to the love stuff. Yes, I know from the way I'm reviewing it sounds like a D but it's not. I still need to watch Episode 1 and 2 again to bring me up to speed and then I'll probably watch episode 3 again. Though if episode 3 had been like episode 1 or 2 I'd never watch it again. However, My DVD collection will only contain the first 3 original star wars, I won't ever buy episodes 1-3 because they're not entertaining enough to me... or maybe because I'm not 12 years old anymore.

(G) The Dears. (Hollywood & Highland) Grade: B+
To help promote H&H and increase business, the complex will be hosting an event called Third Thursday, in which a free live performance is held in the courtyard along with an art event and/or beer tasting, etc. The first night of the monthly event had Montreal's Dears performing their brand of Brit pop, Moz-inspired numbers. It was especially enjoyable considering the warm summer nights lately and since it was free. Hehe. Overall, a good warm-up for their El Rey gig next week.

(TV) Chaotic. (Britney Spears) Grade: D
Morbid curiousity is to blame but I was hoping to be entertained by Spears' idiocy. The only form of entertainment, however, was her analysis of an art piece, which actually wasn't much of an analysis. Spears acts like a preteen with the camera skills of a five-year-old. (The camera angles are more dizzying than Blair Witch.) I'd like that hour of my life back please.
Waiting on hold for Ameriquest. ARGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I HATE WAITING ON HOLD! 30 minutes already!!!!!

Hey... I saw Star Wars at midnight... I"M A DORK!

Also... tonight on TV... The MUPPETS Wizard of Oz! What!?!!? I don't know... but it's on.
(O) Orlando, Florida. (Depths of Hell). Grade: F
Sticky, humid, gross, land of unruly children and Disney, need I say more? This is my third time here, and it seems to get worse every time. And getting a ticket for going 67 mph on the freeway doesn't help either. (The speed limit is 50 mph, set by Disney. Bastards). The only good thing was going home and sleeping in my own bed, and getting to see Cup O Noodles.

Random stuff:
- I'm so busy at work, I don't know where to begin. My solution? Procrastinate even more. No really, I should get back to work. After done blogging of course.
- Star Wars fans (Mac, Darth, Cup O Noodles) - you guys are crazy. Hope you enjoyed the movie.
- I think I'm retiring from going to shows. I was going to see the Ravonettes w/ New Wave, but I think I'm too old to go to a show in the middle of a week. I lack the energy.
- How come no one's blogging? Time for New Wave to start sending threats....

(O) Kylie Minogue diagnosed with breast cancer. grade: F-

This totally sucks. She makes such great music, why can't someone stupid & worthless in music like will smith or avril lavinge be afflicted with such tragedy? She is rather young for this as well; she will be turning 37 later this month. anyway, i hope she beats it. (source: BBC news)
time to play a kylie marathon, i recommend: Your Love, Can't Get Blue Monday Out of My Head, Come Into My World (Fischerspooner Remix), Slow (The Chemical Brothers Remix), Chocolate (Album Version), I Believe In You, Whenever You Feel Like It

(V) "Sex is not the Enemy". Garbage. grade: A

This is an awesome video. It looks good and the concept is entertaining, especially the ending when Shirley flashes her breasts at a concert and gets hauled off by the po-po (apparently, this was shot at a real concert where the fans were unaware of the stunt, which caused them to become rather pissed off that Shirley had been arrested). The video can be seen via the garbage website here.

(A) "We Belong Together (Remix)". Mariah Carey feat. Jadakiss & Styles P. grade: B

This new remix by DJ Clue (who produced "Heartbreaker (feat. Jay-Z)" and "Heartbreaker Remix (feat. Missy Elliott & Da Brat)") is now available on iTunes. The song now has a beat you can bounce to, with Mariah singing longer parts of the Babyface/The Deele and Bobby Womack songs she references in the album version. The rap parts are too long, but go well as they alternate with Mariah's verses, which are very similar to the original but sped up, which compliments the new beat well. All in all, a good remix.
UPDATE: the mariah site is offering a FREE d/l of this remix!

(A) "One Word". Kelly Osbourne. grade: C+

OK, I REALLY do not want to like this song, but I can't help it. It has an infectious electro beat, but Kelly's vocals ruin it. It's one of those songs that I don't mind listening to (and sometimes enjoy), but I will be over in a matter of time. Oh yeah, and the video sucks.

The Day After Tomorrow: F-

I must say that I did laugh my ass off while watching this movie. In case you forgot about it let me refresh your memory. Its the story of Global Warming that instead of taking hundreds of years to develop instead takes about a day. I got to see all the scenes that I had heard about....out running air, burning books rather than wood, the wannabe dick cheney vp. It really had it all. I think I wanted to punch myself in the face while watching this. Dennis Quaid somehow walks from Philly to NYC to rescue his son, who he has little contact with for years. His son and his idiotic friends are some of the few to survive in NY after the killer storm and spend the whole movie avoiding "the cold" and waiting to be rescued. We get to hear all about how we did it all wrong and hopefully if given a second chance we could find a way to do it better!!! I think at this point we are supposed to realize the error of our ways, but i found myself laughing. If you want to laugh really hard at a badly written movie I highly recommend this, if you actually think its good, well then wow, thats all I can say.
Trip to Vegas: B

Trips to vegas are fun every once in a while, and would have been much better had I came back with more than I went with, but alas it was not meant to be. Mac and I spent most of the trip together, including staying up for 24+ hours walking around aimlessly and gambling at different locations. Thanks to John for buying me a nice Ceasar's Palace medallion to sport during the trip. Nice relaxing get away. I'm sure i'll return sometime in the future. In the meantime, i'll make my usual declaration that i'd much rather fly than drive out there. Of course I say this everytime and have yet to fly...so take it for what its worth.

Quick thoughts:

(M) Crash. (2004, Paul Haggis ) Grade: B+
Thoughts: I liked this movie cause it had some pretty good performances in it. Don Cheadle is great as always, and you will end up hating Sandra Bullock more, so its a win/win!!

Hot Weather D: Being hot and muggy is not fun at all....yuck.

2 more day..........................................
(M) Crash. (2004, Paul Haggis ) Grade: B
Thoughts: The film has received mixed reviews from critics and auidence memembers but I'm standing by my semi high grade and here's why - 1. race issues in L.A. are pretty common and we never think about them but they are there. Of course all cities have their race issues but Los Angeles is pretty diverse when compared to other major cities, 2. the shots of L.A. were cool, no Michael Mann Collateral but still great stuff, 3. Don Cheadle is a great actor, 4. Ludacris is a decent actor, he actually impressed me, 5. Brendan Fraser is so hot :)

(M) Persona. (1966, Ingmar Bergman) Grade: A-
Thoughts: My second Ingmar Bergman film and I must say pretty enjoyable though much more art house. The film opens with quick shots of an old couple, burning film, a little boy reading and yea just strange stuff with symbolic meaning. The movie deals with an actress who has stopped speaking for three months and a nurse taking care of her. The two are isolated to a seaside house for a mini vacation that leads to insight into human behavior and lots of symbolism.

(M) Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down (iAtame). (1990, Pedro Almodovar) Grade: B+
Thoughts: One fu*ked up love story is the best way to describe this film. Ricky (Antonio Banderas) is freed from a mental hospital and goes looking for Marina (Victoria Abril), an ex-porn star and junkie he screwed a few years back who is now a b rated movie actress. He kidnaps her and slaps her around telling her she will fall in love with him. Of course she is freaking out and telling him he is crazy and trying to plot ways to escape. As the hours pass though Marina ends up falling for Ricky and they start planning their life together. It is pretty messed up but then again it is Pedro Almodovar and he is whacked out. The movie was quite disturbing yet I found myself enjoying it which poses the question - am I disturbed?

(M) 12 Monkeys. (1995, Terry Gilliam) Grade: B+
Thoughts: A very interesting concept about the future and viruses. I think if I saw this film in 1995 it would of had a bigger impact on me but it being 10 years now I find some of the technology used to demonstrate the future dated. Brad Pitt was good and I even saw some of his Louis de Pointe du Lac personality leaking through from Interview With the Vampire (1994). Bruce Willis is cool as a hero type character and Madeleine Stowe was beautiful.

Saturday, May 14

Sometimes I want to call the Afro-line at KROQ and scream!!! This one girl at my work is going fishing this weekend, and she wanted a Coach bag to keep all her fishing equipment in instead of a tackle box, but just bought some other "cute" bag to store her supplies. Then she goes and buys a fishing pole and paints it pink, cause it should be "cute". She's going to a man-made lake and didn't know how the fish got in the lake, so she assumed a plane flew over the lake, opened up the back (like a military plane) and dumped all the fish into the lake like a crop duster sprays crops. Is this person an idiot?

Then the girl that sits behind her needed to load a stapler and asked, "Which way do the staples go in?" She thought they went in UPSIDE DOWN!!!! This girl is pregnant also, so God help us with the idiocy that is going to be continued. Does she know how she got pregnant? I sometimes wonder.

What the hell is wrong with people??!!! I have to agree with Dorkus, common sense is just not common. After work I wanted to:

the other day i was wondering how many movies i have seen since this year has started. i went back and counted all the reviews from the site and came up with 50 movies, though i'm not sure how accurate it is because there are movies i watch that i haven't reviewed i.e. hotel rwanda. point is i only average 10 to 11 movies a month so HA to those who think i watch a lot of movies. Fifty is not even that much. :P

coming soon a few more movie and album reviews.

Thursday, May 12

(A) Demon Days (2005, Gorillaz) grade: B

so i've wanted to blog about this album for a while now but really haven't found much to say. all i know is that i like it. it has a somewhat different feel, kind of more hip-hop, which might be due to new production by dangermouse. the guest spots are interesting on this album: neneh cherry ("buffalo stance" anyone?), de la soul, dennis hopper, ike turner, the singer from happy mondays (shaun ryder), plus others.
fav tracks: "D.A.R.E." (feat. Shaun Ryder), "Kids With Guns" (feat. Neneh Cherry and an interpolation of Salt 'N' Pepa's "Push It"), and of course the single (which doesn't fit the new iPod ad) "Feel Good Inc." (feat. De La Soul).

Tuesday, May 10

so with work being slow now i have time to surf the net and find dumb stuff.

- NotProud.com is a great site to pass the time. today i found an entry that expresses how i always feel.

- i'm starting to realize harry potter fans should not be recokoned with. there are tons of sites about the new harry potter goblet of fire movie but what caught my attention were all the ones for katie leung. she'll be playing harry's love interest cho chang in the film but what's awesome is there is already a hate site for her. ha ha that is rich.

- so with all the american idol talk going on i have to pose the question - did paula really do it? personally i think yes but i still like paula and think corey is a slime and yes i did watch that primtetime special which pulled in over 14 million viewers. dang!

Sunday, May 8

i kno i kno stupid question but...for the premiere of star wars, it says i can buy tickets at 1201am for Wed May 18. Does that mean it's tuesday night or wed night? am i a total spaz for thinking they mean wed night? hehe. HELP!

(M) Taxi (2004. Queen Latifah, Jimmy Fallon) grade: B-

Saw this the other day, and i was surprised that it wasn't horrible. Queen Latifah totally made the movie, Jimmy Fallon was rarely funny. Go figure, 'cos the only time he was funny on SNL was when he messed up his lines or began to laugh, which you can only do on live TV. I'm glad I waited to rent this tho, I would have been mad had i spent up towards 10 bucks for this, ugh, just thinking about it makes me mad.

(M) The Rules of Attraction (2002. James Van Der Beek, Shannyn Sossamon) grade: B

I watched this movie 'cos a friend recommended it. It was pretty interesting how the different characters and their relation to each other were presented. The film was well-made, as far as direction and cinematography are concerned. The DVD contains a cool "Anatomy of a Scene" feature that was entertaining to watch.

(M) Elephant (2003) grade: B+

This was a very entertaining film about some high school students. Again, the inter-relationships among the students are presented in a thorough, interesting manner. One of the things I liked was how the characters normal lives were presented, such normal things as a quiet drive to school, looking up at the sky, walking down a hall. There was no speech during these scenes, but they served to help the audience connect with the characters, which added to the ending of the movie, which was rather shocking and bizarre. I would recommend this one.

Thursday, May 5

wow new wave, i wish i had all that time to watch all those movies. sadly all i have time for is studying. so for new wave and darth...and i dunno who else but any of the UCR peeps, guess who i ran into today? Howie, of Mike and Howie. Apparently he owns/runs a Cold Stone in chino hills and three other locations...if only he had come out of the store 10 minutes earlier I would have had a free ice cream. Anyway it was totally bizarre to run into him. Funny guy. We(my friends, howie and I) ended up talking for like a half an hour outside the Cold Stone.
(M) Chorok Mulkogi (Green Fish). (1997, Chang-dong Lee) Grade: C+
Thoughts: I saw this movie awhile back but forgot to review it. A standard storyline about a man who gets out of the army and has to look for work. He heads back to his hometown only to realize nothing is the same and gets involved with some gangster/mob people. I found the story pretty interesting and the ending very depressing.

(M) Vera Drake. (2004, Mike Leigh) Grade: A
Thoughts: This was such a great film. It was well done and well acted. As soon as the film started I was drawn in until the end. Imelda Staunton is amazing as Vera. In the movie, Vera plays a mother and wife to her family and caretaker to those around the neighborhood. She is viewed as a sweet older lady who just cares a lot but her dark sercet is she performs aborations to girls/women who are unable to afford it. Although the film touches upon a controversial topic matter - aboration - you sympathize with Vera and what she is doing.

(M) Fever Pitch. (1997, David Evans) Grade: C+
Thoughts: I saw the updated version of this film and didn't think much of it. So it wasn't much of a surprise when I saw the originial UK version and found it dull. I did not buy Sarah Hughes (Ruth Gemmell) and Paul Ashworth (Colin Firth) relationship because it never went into why they liked each other - they just did. There was also too much football aka soccer talk throughout the film which only made it more confusing and dull. Usually I love Colin Firth but he seemed a bit out of his element trying to play a "sporty" guy when all I can picture him doing is having tea and biscuits. Still I guess if i had to pick between this film and the updated one I rather just watch this one.

(M) Byeol (Star). (2003, Hyeong-ik Jang) Grade: B-
Thoughts: A Korean romantic comedy/drama about boy meets girl. It was not bad compared to some other Asian movies I've seen but not one of my all time favorites. I found the lead male to be a bit stiff and Frankstein looking. The girl was super cute though but then again most of the Asian girls in these movies are.

(M) Failan. (2001, Hae-sung Song) Grade: B
Thoughts: Surprisingly a good film about a chinese girl trying to make a life for herself in Korea. Failan (Cecilia Cheung) gets to stay in Korea by getting a fake marriage license to an aging gangster name Kang-Jae. Over time Failan falls in love with her "fake" husband even though she knows nothing about him or has ever met him. Of course it wouldn't be a real Asian film if no one died so you can guess what happens. On another note, Cecilia Cheung is moving up my list of actresses I am really coming to like.

(M) Caddyshack. (1980, Harold Ramis) Grade: C+
Thoughts: A classic film I know but pretty random and strange if you ask me. I did enjoy the film but found it a bit looney and all over the map. Rodney Dangerfield stole that whole movie though as Al Czervik. He was wonderful and perfect for that role. Bill Murray as Carl Spackler was pretty sweet as well and the gopher was excellent. I don't think Chevy Chase was enough of a presence and the random boobie shots and Danny Noonan (Michae O'Keefe) storylines were random.
(O) Garbage, "Bleed Like Me" Video (MSN Music) grade: A-

(pics from garbage box)
Just watched the new garbage vid on msn music. It was pretty interesting. Shirley plays a nurse at a mental institution, as she talks about the various patients there (which is what the lyrics are about). She is also in therapy herself and gets all paranoid about what the doc is writing in her file. All in all, this video isn't as good as "Why Do You Love Me" (which you can also view at msn music [Mariah's "We Belong Together" is there too]). I don't agree with this being their 2nd single. Reportedly, they will have different singles in Europe ("Run Baby Run") and the UK ("Sex is Not the Enemy"), so I look forward to checking out those vids as well. Of course, garbage can do no wrong :) it's still a good video, beautiful song.

Wednesday, May 4

Just as I predicted... all I had to do this week was say Goodbye Anthony and Scott would get kicked off. I don't know why it works that way but I out-smarted the A.I. gods.

P.S. NIN album is getting better with repeated listens.
From Fake DIY: British Sea Power, currently on tour in America, have been told by MTV USA that their new single - 'Please Stand Up' - is not suitable for MTV. The reason for the ban is the line 'A little excitement makes us wetter wetter'.

This is comical for two reasons: a) MTV would never play BSP; b) there is far more offensive material on the network than BSP.

Tuesday, May 3

No American Idol Talk this time (but I'm tempted). Goodbye Anthony.

First... YES... I need..... NEEEEEEEEED to see the new Star Wars. I too am a HUGE dork and must see all of them. And this one actually looks like it's gonna be good.

Nine Inch Nails... okay, this isn't a review because I haven't finished listening to the album but I think I'm probably halfway through it. I was very excited about this album but it's not doing it for me. Music either needs great hooks or it as to be layered with so much going on it's interesting... or it has to create a mood in some atmospheric sense. The single really had my hopes up because it was good and then 2 minutes into the single it had a GREAT synth hook. However this album is lyrically minimal (so far). Repeating the same lines over and over and over. I'll still finish it and then listen to it all over again but... I don't know. It's been 5 years and I know he says he plans on releasing another album next year... but I don't know. Please note, this is not my final opinion. Hopefully it changes.

Others please let me know your opinions so far.
Anticipating Episode III. F

I don't like waiting for this movie to come out. I'm all excited about it and I am a big nerd. It's like when I was a little kid and I couldn't open my Christmas or my Birthday presents until the day was actually there. Actually the reason it gets a big F is because in the time between then and now, I have 4 midterms to study for, so that really bites. Anyways, I just felt that I should share this with everyone, and i'm sure that a person who is white, but shall remain nameless and genderless will appreciate this as well. Seacrest OUT!

Monday, May 2

random thoughts:

- man i have not blogged in days, almost a week. i'm getting scared.

- cup-o-noodles i must admit i need your blogs for the site to survive and on the plus side by the end of this month no more american idol :). hee hee.

- work has been a real pain. i feel like all i do is work or think about work. i hate it.

- watched a few movies, got some cds and went to a show so i have reviews coming up.

(G) Coachella(2005)
Grade: B+
The above grade is for both the concert and my experience on the medical team. The only part that really sucked was that I was at the parking lot first aid tent for 5 hours and we only saw 1 patient. The cool thing about being in the parking lot was that I could hear all of Weezer's set from the main stage.

We saw a lot of people with blisters, cuts from tripping over stakes, heat/dehydration/exhaustion, one guy got sucker punched and his eye was all messed up, allergies, people with hangovers asking for pain meds. It was a good experience b/c I got to learn all about triage and actually apply things I've learned.

I was able to listen to The Sexy Magazines, Gratitude, Jimmy or Jamie(cant remember) Cullum--none of whom I knew/heard about but Gratitude and Jimmy Cullum sounded cool. I watched Coldplay do 3 songs when my friend and I sneaked away from the main tent. Some people went backstage while Weezer was playing. All in all it was pretty cool: free concert, free food(which was all junk and crap--so not that great), free education. The doctor that took us to Coachella is going to Wango Tango in a couple of weeks. Wish I could go, but kinda glad that I have something planned; it's all very tiring. We left at 7am to go to Indio and got back at 330 b/c we had to clean up. Tired, tired.

(O) David Sedaris. (UCLA Live, April 26, 2005) Grade: A
UCLA certainly has some of the best events, with this reading as a prime example. Currently on a book tour supporting Children Playing Before a Statue of Hercules, a collection of short stories with proceeds benefiting 826NYC, Sedaris shared the bill with Sarah Vowell, who writes about interesting, historical topics. Grant Lee Buffalo made a guest appearance as well.

(G) Coachella. (April 30, 2005) Grade: B+
Certainly my best experience at this festival so far. The weather was cool (around 80 degrees), it was hardly crowded (unlike last year's sold out weekend) and I caught several great acts (Ambulance LTD, Snow Patrol, Razorlight, Keane, Stereophonics, Weezer, Secret Machines, Bloc Party and Coldplay). The only downside: My car was towed because I parked in an area the festival organizers later decided wasn't allowed. Luckily, I didn't have to pay; my car was just moved.

Croquet at the park during the day with Cup O Noodles and friends. At night, cosmic bowling and drinks. Nothing like low energy recreational sports and good friends. Had a great day.
