(M) Taxi (2004. Queen Latifah, Jimmy Fallon) grade: B-

Saw this the other day, and i was surprised that it wasn't horrible. Queen Latifah totally made the movie, Jimmy Fallon was rarely funny. Go figure, 'cos the only time he was funny on SNL was when he messed up his lines or began to laugh, which you can only do on live TV. I'm glad I waited to rent this tho, I would have been mad had i spent up towards 10 bucks for this, ugh, just thinking about it makes me mad.

(M) The Rules of Attraction (2002. James Van Der Beek, Shannyn Sossamon) grade: B

I watched this movie 'cos a friend recommended it. It was pretty interesting how the different characters and their relation to each other were presented. The film was well-made, as far as direction and cinematography are concerned. The DVD contains a cool "Anatomy of a Scene" feature that was entertaining to watch.

(M) Elephant (2003) grade: B+

This was a very entertaining film about some high school students. Again, the inter-relationships among the students are presented in a thorough, interesting manner. One of the things I liked was how the characters normal lives were presented, such normal things as a quiet drive to school, looking up at the sky, walking down a hall. There was no speech during these scenes, but they served to help the audience connect with the characters, which added to the ending of the movie, which was rather shocking and bizarre. I would recommend this one.
