(M) Crash. (2004, Paul Haggis ) Grade: B
Thoughts: The film has received mixed reviews from critics and auidence memembers but I'm standing by my semi high grade and here's why - 1. race issues in L.A. are pretty common and we never think about them but they are there. Of course all cities have their race issues but Los Angeles is pretty diverse when compared to other major cities, 2. the shots of L.A. were cool, no Michael Mann Collateral but still great stuff, 3. Don Cheadle is a great actor, 4. Ludacris is a decent actor, he actually impressed me, 5. Brendan Fraser is so hot :)

(M) Persona. (1966, Ingmar Bergman) Grade: A-
Thoughts: My second Ingmar Bergman film and I must say pretty enjoyable though much more art house. The film opens with quick shots of an old couple, burning film, a little boy reading and yea just strange stuff with symbolic meaning. The movie deals with an actress who has stopped speaking for three months and a nurse taking care of her. The two are isolated to a seaside house for a mini vacation that leads to insight into human behavior and lots of symbolism.

(M) Tie Me Up, Tie Me Down (iAtame). (1990, Pedro Almodovar) Grade: B+
Thoughts: One fu*ked up love story is the best way to describe this film. Ricky (Antonio Banderas) is freed from a mental hospital and goes looking for Marina (Victoria Abril), an ex-porn star and junkie he screwed a few years back who is now a b rated movie actress. He kidnaps her and slaps her around telling her she will fall in love with him. Of course she is freaking out and telling him he is crazy and trying to plot ways to escape. As the hours pass though Marina ends up falling for Ricky and they start planning their life together. It is pretty messed up but then again it is Pedro Almodovar and he is whacked out. The movie was quite disturbing yet I found myself enjoying it which poses the question - am I disturbed?

(M) 12 Monkeys. (1995, Terry Gilliam) Grade: B+
Thoughts: A very interesting concept about the future and viruses. I think if I saw this film in 1995 it would of had a bigger impact on me but it being 10 years now I find some of the technology used to demonstrate the future dated. Brad Pitt was good and I even saw some of his Louis de Pointe du Lac personality leaking through from Interview With the Vampire (1994). Bruce Willis is cool as a hero type character and Madeleine Stowe was beautiful.
