music to begin blogging: trina feat. trick daddy - "off the chain with it"

ok, so im supposed to be packing, and as always, im waiting until the last minute. i have a mere 15 hours left in so. cal, so looks like that will be spent packing and sleeping (hopefully more of the latter), before i move to san francisco. im thinking about leaving at around 2 pm. i am going to crash at my LIS homie, jose's crib tomorrow nite cos i dont move in to my place until tuesday. bad part is that i have to go to the city of SF residential parking permit office at 8 am to get my permit, and i have to report at the school at 8:45, good thing that, according to mapquest, the permit office is only 7 minutes from campus. as eric would say, "we'll see what happens"

i must say that i have had some good times before leaving. dorkus' b-day was cool, and then, of course there was saturday, and from what i remember, that was cool too.

i guess i dont have much else to day, just wanted to drop a line before i left, also before i got kicked out of here :p

music to end blogging: anita ward - "ring my bell"

Wednesday, August 27

i was v. bored at work because i finished all of my projects early. so my coworker convinced me to join friendster. ha! i conformed. so to all those who are on the site, please add me as your mate because i need friends... don't make me beg. ha.
belle and sebastian by the way... bloody brilliant! although they skipped some faves for me, the highlight was the cover of "video killed the radio star" oh oh!
oh yeah, and that post below is a joke, so don't get your panites in a bunch and go off crying, pissing, bitching, or moaning about it. i'm just messing around.
wow that last comment i posted in the flooble box makes me seem ignorant doesn't it? sorry all, don't know who's doing it, i have my ideas, jew and queer, hmmmm i wonder who uses those words a lot? hmmmmm....but who knows. for that person though, dude get a life. why are you coming out of nowhere to say something when you weren't part of it in the first place? what are you some kind of loser? simply put i'd go with yeah.

Tuesday, August 26

Sorry for the random blog, but this is what I blogged on my other blogsite and I just don't have the time to write another. Either way it's an update on me so you can skip it or read on.

Btw sorry to sluts that I didn't make it to your going away party. :( i really wanted to go but i had to watch my sister.

when in doubt, go to a study group session

that's the lesson of the day. i had a TOTALLY crappy day at school today. I think it was a mixture of frustration, being overwhelmed, fatigue and brain overload. BUT everytime I feel this way, and I think I'm gonna go crazy.....I go study w/ my group and I feel so much better! There's this group I study with and they're really cool. We discuss one subject and go over all the lectures to date and it really helps. I also need to bulk up on my studying alone time. I seem to find myself wasting time in my apartment. So what I'm gonna try this week going to A.S.S.(alternative study spaces) to a. get me offline, b. away from the tv, c. away from the phone(sort of) and d. to studying!! Hopefully it works out. We get out at 3 tomorrow, so I'm planning on going to starbucks either right after or something like that. Then tomorrow we're going to go to the HIP HOP class at the LA fitness in La Verne. WOOHOO! Dancing is awesome. Can't wait. Plus I think my cousin Novette is gonna go so good times will be had. OK time to go night night...yeah i kno it's only 1130...but i'm getting old!

listening to: the whir of my computer

oh yeah, can i just mention how GREAT Belle and Sebastian were Sunday night?
hello everyone. i heard some interesting information on the radio this morning. apparently we will be able to see Mars clearer than we ever have sometime soon. but that is not the news i am talking about. what i heard was this lady talking about her belief that all Chinese people are Martians. it was very intriguing she belongs to a special "club" a cult you might say that believes that Chinese people are decendents of aliens. isn't that awesome? so when asked what the culture of aliens were she responded with they have a very asian influenced style. ummmm, k.........just thought i'd share this tidbit with the Chinese folk out there, apparently you guys are all aliens, and not the illegal kind either.

so yeah apparently someone has been going around defacing the names of innoncent folk, such as myself and chris carraba. this is not cool people. haha. and i'd like to point out to darth, that i did not write, i like boys for you. i have no idea who the culprit is, maybe frank stallone? also one other thing before i leave, i'm really into texas hold'em these days, so if you guys ever play, please let me know, so i can get it out of my system. haha.
okay, all the ucr alumni in the house..........

i heard on the radio today that riverside supposedly has the worst air in the country. the COUNTRY!!!! the city had something like 185 bad air days last year.

nice.
sorry about the lack of blogging.....hopefully this will prevent the house from blowing up....just like in inspector gadget. just got back from vegas....drank way to much, gambled way to much, lost way to much, so it was a successful trip.....i had the worst hangover of my life and had to bowl...needless to say i didn't bowl my best games ever. haha.....going to seattle this weekend, really looking forward to that, haven't been there in about 10 years so it should be fun. oh fyi house i didn't call myself a fag as noted on the chatterbox.....but that is really mac the knife's message he told me so....haha.....football season is just a mere 9 days away!!! How excited are we!!!! see new wave i blogged...happy now?

blasting on the stereo: nothing but in my head it is the cure :)
it's almost one but i had to type my review of "american splendor." it is brilliant. v. witty and funny but not the dumb type of humor (i.e. adam sandler). and the film is not shot in a conventional way. but it goes behind the camera, incorporates comic strip illustrations. i am so happy to have fin-nally seen a movie worth watching. i thought "swimming pool" would do it for me... but no. not really. i would watch "american splendor" again. especially since the guy next to me was one of those people who would say, "omigosh, i can't believe he did that!" or repeat the line just said while chuckling. okay. this is not your living room. hello? so annoying. anyway, this is a film i recommend!

ha - i was just playing, new wave's used to it by now!

tip for vegas: "the grabbing hands grab all they can" - depeche mode - everything counts

WOW! someone sure picked up a 'tude in francia. u should have gone to espana, then u would be saying "no pasa nada" :p
oh yeah new wave, i just heard that you're not making it on the 22nd for my bday because of some vegas trip. hmm, seeing as you never go to vegas, and going to vegas is an exclusive limited time offer, and vegas is going to fall off the face of the earth in two weeks, you are officially and totally off the hook. NOT! it's not like you already committed to attending my bday dinner, oh wait - you did! you officially suck! hope you lose all your money in vegas. haha. jk.

darth: good luck on your bowling tournament.
wow. it's great to be back on American soil. to be in a real English speaking country again.

just got back late last night from my trip to Paris, France. it was a great trip: France is a beautiful country with so much culture to be had. not everyone is rude; we did some encounter some rudness, but we also met some perfectly nice people too. a lot of the time was spent with family we have not seen in years, and some of my parent's childhood friends. so during my two weeks there, we visited all the monuments and touristy spots (aren't we obligated or something?): Tour Eiffel, Sacre Couer, Place de la Concorde, Arc de Triumphe, Notre Dame, Louvre (where we saw the real Mona Lisa), Montmartre (Amelie-town), Chateau des Versailles, Champs Elysees, Mont St Michel. we drove through Normandy to get to Mont St Michel, and I fell in love with Normandy - it's what I picture when I think of France: the green fields and flowers, charming cottages with the yard gnomes, the local shops and bakeries. it's gorgeous. when I go back to France, I would like to either visit Normandy, or Monaco and Corsica.

we also spent a day in London, England, and another day in Brugge, Belgium. i loved Belgium! and London too! I'm thinking I want to spend more time in England next year (ahem, looking your way - New Wave and Pigern).

the bad thing about the trip was that it was a million degrees outside. the whole time i was there it was 95 - 105 degrees outside, humid, and NO air conditioning anywhere!! NO AIR CONDITIONING PEOPLE!!! NONE! So you are perpetually sweating, from the minute you get to France and minute you leave. You take a shower at night, and you have to hose off in the morning again. You sleep with all your windows and doors open, and you wake up several times a night because it is that hot. It's like you're living in a furnace. AND to top it off, you have to get on the bus and subway everyday to stand next to Frenchie who decides that they are too good for deodorant, so you must block off your sense of smell or you will die. you never feel shower fresh, it's quite disgusting. so there were some days where we were all just cranky because we couldn't take the heat. folks, i'm not kidding or anything, the heat wave was deadly: unfortunately, the French government estimated that 3000 people have died.

oh yeah, I wish I could at least speak a little French - it would have made things easier, but the most i know is the standard greetings and how to count. i can figure out some things because of the years i took spanish, but really, the language barrier makes things difficult sometimes. so that's why i was kind of glad to go to england and belgium where they speak English! wow, i feel so...American. sad.

so overall, a great trip was had, but i'm glad to be home. i have several reminders of france: besides my souvenirs, i have the nastiest mosquito (?) bite you will ever see. something bit me - I'm not sure what it was - a mosquito, a wasp, a small animal - on my leg. it looks like a bug bite, but then it looks bruised and bloody (underneath the skin), so although i'm not actually bleeding or oozing anything, it looks gross! even i get disgusted everytime i look at it. that's just me though - i get allergic reactions to bug bites - anybody else would get a small bump from a mosquito, i get raised mounds with the diamater of a golf ball. hehe. i hope i thoroughly grossed everyone out, as i so enjoyed doing to my family members. hehe.

au revoir!

p.s. bonus purchase: a limited edition of the Amelie soundtrack (the French version), with four additional songs from Yann Tiersen.

Friday, August 15

don't think i can make it skimmy, plus i really don't think that movie is really worth 11.50....i'm thinking more of a afternoon matinee movie, 5 bucks is good enough for it.....i really do want to see it....i mean for years we have all wondered who would win if they fought and now we get to find out!!!!
Darth, I am not joking but I am actually going to go watch it tonight. Not by my choice since I don't really like scary movies, but with some of my coworkers and friends. If you want to come you're more then welcome too! Anybody else interested? We're watching a 9:40 showing at The Grove. Did you know it's $11.50 for a stinking movie ticket there for Fridays and Saturdays? What the heck is that?
Today is a great day in film history as Freddy vs. Jason is finally in theaters, so i gotta ask....who's coming with me man.....who's coming with me?

music to begin blogging: the cure - lullaby (that ones for u ftc, actually, its what made me decide to come and blog)

okay, so nothing especially interesting has been going on here. lets see, i went to the 80s club with some of y'all forever and a half ago, and i must say, good times were had :D my sister enjoyed it as well, i think she told her co-workers about it cos every friday since then she asks me what the name of the club is cos her co-workers want to know. good stuff.

ok, the other day, i filled out the "separation" form for best buy (i.e., my 2 weeks notice). :'( how sad. its not too bad working there, and the discount is hella nice. this week, i bought the batman legacy for 42 bucks (reg. 69.99) and i got the best of molly shannon for 12 bucks (reg. 14.99), not to shabby. (haha, remember that from vert lab, hedwig??) i still havent made the one big purchase that i wanted to make. i dont know whether to go with a digi-cam or a stereo for my car, hmmmm.

speaking of my car, the other day i went to get a tune up near by and i had a coupon with me for 34.99. and the dude there told me that my '01 malibu would be $189!!! because my car REQUIRES the platinum plugs, im like, WTF?!?! so i need to call somewhere else, cos i totally did not believe him, and i hope i dont have to shell out that much mula, cos if so, then my car will just have to settle for an oil change dammit!
oh yeah, im off to sf in about 3 weeks. my sister had said that she wanted to throw a going party, but we've yet to see that materialise, we might just end up going out or something.

oh yeah, ftc, i have the blender issue with thom yorke on the cover, if u want it.
so i guess thats about it for now....

music to close: bush - cold contagious

ONE MORE THING! shirley's new studio diaries are now up at www.garbage.com for the reading...enjoy

sorry about my blog, my boss is asleep here at work, so i thought i'd waste some time.
man arnold schwarzenneger seems to be a happening candidate. he's going onto all sorts of forums to try and reach his people. all i know is that if he wins, i win a free meal at Lawry's, and if he loses, he will be my LeAST favorite ACTION HERO! actually that's a lie, maybe he can run in another state, and HE Really Can UtiLizE hiS skills IN NEW YORK!

Coming in With: Street to Nowhere- The Parkman Ghost

The A-L-H?? Darth seriously.... haha. Also i'd like to point out that our claim to fame is not a haunted house, but none other than the class of 1997's Adam Tate! Hello, he is on the practice squad for the Green Bay Packers. That means he knows that Brett Faverere guy. So Freaky Friday seems like the popular movie choice right now, but the next flick I actually want to watch is a movie called Step Into Liquid. I've been on a local music scene kick recently for some reason as well, well by local I mean local California bands, up and down the coast, there's some good stuff out there.

Oh yeah before I go there is a very awesome virus/worm going around for computers. It's so very excellent, I have my home computer and my work computer infected with it. It's really cool cause it pretty much locks you out of your own computer as it shuts down after it's on for a few minutes. Apparently it is transferred through downloads or email and a lot of people are having this happen to them. So just a warning to the house. Oh yeah and make sure you have your stuff backed up, cause I almost lost all my files. Not cool Zeus.

Going out with: Dogwood - Conscience in a Cave
wow blogging 2 days in a row!! crazy me....anyway last night i got to watch a reunion of one of my favorite cheesy 80s shows. "THATS INCREDIBLE!!!" Man that show takes me back. They redid one of my favorites from way back when, the haunted Toys R. Us store. They have photographs of the ghostly figure in the isles and such. Now I had always been told that this store was the one a few miles from my house, but checking on the internet today, I have found that its in Sunnyvale. Man that sucks.....I thought that was our claim to fame. I did however find that there is a haunted house in Alhambra, next door to the Home Depot, so i guess that makes the A-L-H, somewhat cool....doesn't it?

Monday, August 11

haha i was trying to find something to say about TRUE LIES on the chatterbox but then school started so that took up most of my day. haha good one tho.

speaking of freaky friday...did u kno that lindsey lohan sings that last song at the end of the movie. yes i download some of the tracks off the CD. i like the soundtrack it's light and fluffy(not my car from college....or the 3 headed dog in HP). yeah first day of school was ok. i'm gonna kick ass dammit! watch me!!!!

listening to: Happy Together-Simple Plan
another wonderful week of work ... it was so yucky hot this weekend that i'm actually glad i'm in the office where the ac is blasting. ha ha.

saw freaky friday with skimmy on thurs and it was great. i really enjoyed the film .. it was a total junk, brain candy, fluff type movie but honestly every once in awhile you need that. i mean who wants to watch serious movies all the time. i thought jamie lee curtis and lindsey lohen did such a great job ... loved them. i also found the reference to a lot of mainstream indie bands comical cause you know 5 years later these bands won't even be remembered like the vines, the hives, white stripes and so on. i wanted to go see the secret lives of dentist as well but the line for the movie theatre was insanely long so forget that ... oh well .. bummer.

good luck in school hedwig .. i'm sure you will kick ass in all your classes. :)

as for the kicking out of the house bit .. no worries foolios .. you have to seriously NEVER EVER EVER EVER blog for me to kick you out. we are talking months and months ... and soon all you are doing is taking up space in the house.

so thinking about what mac the knife wrote a few days back ... skimmy and i were talking about that for a bit and although we don't look any different ... well at least i know i don't .... i do feel like i have changed and i feel like skimmy has changed. yea i might still live at home and work at some tired ass company but my mindset, my outlook on life is always changing and alternating. i'm not one standing thought or opinion however i do feel that certain people have a certain way of looking at you that makes it seems like you are never changing.

blasting on the stereo: drown - smashing pumpkins ... getting ready for seattle ... hee hee.
haha....my stomach hurts from doing ab crunches and from the batting cages...i thought i'd tell that to hedwig so that she could offer me a sandwhich now....haha.

yes skimmy the book is going to be made into a movie with sly stallone as the lead cop.....its gonna be great!!

I had quite the problem yesterday with my late evening tv schedule, I found that Star Wars, Glory and Rocky IV were all on at the same time, needless to say my thumb is pretty tired from flipping through all the channels.

I wish I had the motivation to study for GREs, but i'm lazy, i can't believe i motivated myself enough to clean my room, i guess it finally just pushed me over the edge and i needed to do it. It does look nicer and bigger now, so i guess thats a good thing.
I hope this blog prevents me from being kicked out of the house.

currently listening to: Pixies
good luck hedwig with your classes, that sounds really exciting! i can't imagine going back to school and having to deal with homework again...i'm studying for the gmat right now (well trying to) and that's already really tough. just setting the time aside to study...it reminds me of why i wanted to graduate so badly.

new wave and i watched freaky friday last week too. i thought it was pretty funny, and jamie lee curtis and lindsey lohan both did a really great job.

darth, i read the first 2 chapters of labrynth and it's very interesting. i can't wait to go home to read some more. you said they're making a movie out of it?

Sunday, August 10

hi there...just checking in cuz no one's been blogging and i didn't want new wave to have a shit fit and start kicking everyone out!! So here I am. I officially start med school tomorrow. I'm excited but scared about starting. Hopefully I will kick ass in all my classes.

Today I watched Freaky Friday today with my family. It was v. entertaining...and also i'm a big fan of lindsey lohan so if she annoys you then don't go see the movie hehe. I mean it's no epic movie or anything but it's fun and I enjoyed it a lot. Other than that I haven't really seen any movies lately. I still need to see S.W.A.T.(colin farrell yummmm droool) and 28 days later.

listening to: the beeps of the red head's cell phone as he puts new numbers in....good stuff

Wednesday, August 6

currently listening to: millencolin - black eye

so i'm sitting here at the office right now, being bored. i have work to do, but don't feel like doing it right now, so i'll let it pile up some, then be pissed later that i have work to do. anyways i have random thoughts going on through my head, and thought i'd spill some of it out.

yesterday i met up with one an old church buddy that i have known since we were in the 3rd grade. he came to san diego from atlanta for a conference. i haven't seen him since a couple years back, but we caught up for some dinner and spirits. the point is, that ever since i've known him, he's evolved/changed. we are the same age, but he looks like he's about 4 years older than i, and has gotten his priorities straight. he dresses in slacks, nice shoes, izod's, the whole nine. then i look at other people i know, and everyone is still stuck in the same motif as however long i've known them, sure they've gotten jobs, have grown older, etc. thing is they still look the same and act the same, in my opinion. i'm not saying this is everyone, but a vast majority seems that way, and i'm sure i haven't changed either. i don't know why this is, maybe it is because i see them more often, but still, i would expect at least some changes. to me it is weird. my goal right now is to just finish up my little tenure here in san diego, and get back into grad school. after that there is a question mark, all i know is that i want to be running my own things, and not working for someone. whatever happened to the "what do you want to be when you grow up?" i sure as hell didn't want to be an accountant. weak. i feel like i'm in office space. and michael bolton is a no talent ass clown.

out with: no use for a name - redemption song
no one blogs anymore ... BOOOOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!

i hate having to be a closet radiohead fan. i have been listening to ok computer all day today ... over and over and over again and i'm just amazed at how stellar the album is. fucking amazing :) i mean ok computer came out in 1997, over 6 years ago, and it is still able to leave such a good impression. i remember when i use to dl all their b-sides and make cds of them and all this stuff. i really liked radiohead before they got all monster big and god like. sheesh.

and you know what is funny is how much radiohead wants people to love them ... they want to be accepted and loved and admired. i think thom feeds off of it but i'm still bitter towards the band for all that W.A.S.T.E mishap but it's all good. (sigh) i really do love their music ... and i guess now so does half the general public.

blasting on the stereo: climbing up the walls - radiohead ... this song is so amazing

Monday, August 4

i'm all moved in! it only took two days so i'm glad that it worked out ok. kyle's family helped me move my stuff in, along w/ darren. then at night my mom and sis came over and helped me clean. today novette came to visit me...my first visitor! and she brought some thai food...yum. it was really good timing cuz matess and i were getting hungry. it's fun setting up a new place. your old things find new places and everything is like new. :) i feel like i have stuff to do...but i havne't organized my head to think about it yet. perhaps i should make a list of things to do. i know i want to change my sprint plan and phone number...and i have to cancel the gas and electric in philly....but amy never emailed me back. then i just gotta get ready for school in general. orientation is in two days...craziness. then it's school like i've never had before. 8-4 everyday....WOOHOO! i'm SO looking fwd to it. bleh. hopefully it will be fun...but when is studying ever fun. *shrug* alrighty i'm gonna continue to take my lil weave thingie i got from seaworld out of my hair...it's annoying.

i am driving and see a toyota sequoia SUV with the "no war for oil" bumper sticker. i stared and stared until i think it was obvious to the driver. how unbelievable is that? and it wasn't irony. because she had "world peace" stickers too. that's all fine and dandy if you believe in world peace but you are helping to fuel the country's greed for oil.
