ahh finally something to blog about. 4 things actually.

1. went to see the body worlds exhibit at the calif. science center on tuesday. AWESOME. and not just from like someone who would naturally be interested in that kind of stuff. it was very educational and the dissections/specimens were INSANE. my personal favorites were the severe scoliosis and the pregnant woman.

2. later that night, i finally went to the indie night at the in cahoots club in riverside. kyle's been raving about it for months now and i could never go b/c it's a tuesday night and i always had school the next day. anyway, i thought it was pretty cool/interesting. the main reason i wanted to go was to see the ppl dance. the majority of the ppl weren't dancing all that different from how I'd dance. but they do this dance where you like step and flail your arms about...kyle thinks it's cool in it's own weird way, but...i dunno i can't do it haha. the vibe was totally chill; only a select few low self esteem girls trying to get attention by showing their bras. but bottom line was that it was just a place to have fun. i didn't get the huge feeling that everyone was there to hook up. the music was ok. i danced to a few songs. OH and the cool thing is it's $1 well drinks ALL NIGHT. i didn't drink that much cuz i was driving but you can order like 10 drinks at a time. lol.

3. i tried roscoe's chicken and waffles for the first time ever. we went to the hollywood one last night before watching les miserables at the pantages. it was SO SO good. i got the chicken w/ gravy and onions and 2 waffles. yum yum yum. service was fast, food was good. i give it an A.

4. watched les miserables FINALLY and i loved it. not as good as RENT but it was really good. the cast was very talented, especially the guy that played jean valjean. great night.

anyway, hope everyone is having a great holiday. the mountains are all green now after the rain. love it.

happy new year!

I was at the gym today and caught a TV show called "Big Man on Campus" on the WB. It looks like the "Bachelor" but I guess for the college set. It was pretty repulsive. Perhaps it was all phoney but such artificial sweetener that poses as true emotion is more distasteful than Sweet and Low itself.
The rain yesterday surpassed the former record of 4" of rain by 1 inch. I enjoy the aftermath: fresh air, large puddles, unexpected rainbows.

the tsunamis washed through houses south of Colombo, Sri Lanka. the earthquake-spawned tsunamis killed thousands of people and displaced a million others.

DONATE NOW !!!!
they need the money and help.

the raining is scarying me ... actually the thunder and lighting is freaking me out more. yikes. hope you guys are all staying dry.

Hope everyone was nice this year....Merry Christmas!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Rancid girl - are you kidding me? Traffic exists in Orange County too, i.e. the Orange Crush. Just ask me, New Wave, or Darth. We have all braved the traffic at one point. I think an hour drive from Costa Mesa to Irvine is even worse bc it is only 12 miles away, it should only take 20 minutes. I hate holiday traffic.

Okay, for my Christmas "party" we had a Christmas buffet lunch set up in the hallway, where everyone lined up like we were in prison or Hometown Buffet (same diff?). We had picnic benches set up in our downstairs sales department, complete with fancy tablecloths and colored napkins. And afterward, they had a "Chinese" raffle, which I'm still trying to figure out. Can anyone shed some light on this? At my old job, they also used the term "Chinese overtime" which basically means you don't get any overtime. Why so racist?!

Also, Darth - your capacity for useless trivia amazes me.

Sorry to hear about your ticket New Wave. Did you try arguing or did you fess up to your crime??? Today, I left Long Beach at 6:30 AM and I arrived at Irvine at 8:25AM. It's only suppose to be a 30 minute drive!! I thought when I moved away from LA, I wouldn't have to deal with the traffic anymore....but I was so wrong. On the plus side, I did mange to listen to the Keane album all the way through.

Monday, December 20

(sigh) i got yet another speeding ticket ... my third one so far. :( man this sucks. oh well. the last time i got one was in dec. 2001 so i think i worked off my point ... but i'm not sure. i hate getting tickets ... that means traffic school and a huge bill. i deserve it though ... i'm a pretty reckless/fast driver. i guess. on the plus side the cop was nice to me, he wasn't those dick cops that make you feel all bad and start yelling at you. he was those sorry to do this but i'm doing it anyways.

Friday, December 17

wow rancid girl, your office party sounds awesome. my company had a dinner at the hollywood museum, which was pretty nice. no bracelets or anything. my old company had a "party" in their lobby. i think that's even worse.
i like how pitchfork wrote, it's the end of the year and you know what that means in journalism: lists! haha. yes, it's fun to do best ofs. brit pub nme named pete (formerly of the libertines) no. 1 on their cool list. i guess because he does crack and is off his rocker. that's always entertaining for the sane.
just came back from the moving units show at the el rey. i swear there were so many 12-year-olds. not that there's anything wrong with that. i mean they're allowed to go to shows. but when there are so many of them and there immature energy takes over...argh. the sound was awful as well. as comic book guy from the simpsons would say, "worst show ever."

Wednesday, December 15

I had my company's Christmas party on the 11th. We had it in a fancy Italian Restaurant at a mall (fashion island)...go figure. The food was great...but the party was sooo boring and long. As soon as I got there, I started drinking. During the entire dinner... the bosses were handing out awards ...( ie: attendance award). I just started work there and I've already missed days (like ditching work to go to concerts with New Wave :) Anyway, at the end of the night all the ladies at my work received a Tiffany's bracelet, which made the whole night much better.

Tuesday, December 14

dang it ... today was one of those days where everything bugged me and i let stuff get to me that usually i would never care about. i hate that feeling. you feel so blech inside.

things that bug me: smug people, playing favorites, not being fair, smug people, politics and more smug people.

on a happier note saw phoenix on sunday. they were wonderful. you could tell there were happy to be there and to play and the audience was eating up their engery.

on friday i hung out with pigern, dorkus melorkus, rancid girl and a few friends. we watched a nice bootlegged version of napoleon dynamite and the topic of best movies of 2004 came up. dorkus felt napoleon and garden state were the some of the best movies of 2004 but i have to disagree.

ever since i began my relationship with Netflix back in april 2003 i have become more of a movie fan. (please note i said fan .. i'm not a movie snob because i have no idea what i'm talking about). i've really stared opening myself up to film ... especially asian film :).

i decided with the end of the year coming up we could do some lists ... you know top films, albums, books, tv shows and so on of 2004. we could even do a worst of list as well.

i know the house is not as interesting as it was before ... a few people have made that comment and i know outsiders who read this site find our page filled witn asinine topics (a bit harsh don't you think). but hey i never claimed this page would be anything more than a place to rant, rave, shout and talk.

ituning: stop whispering - radiohead (i'm starting my love relationship with them again)

Thursday, December 9

had our office christmas party today. pigern is right ... office party is an oxymoron. think about it .....

i won't bore you with the details of how my party went but i will say it was better than last yr. and it was a casino night. what i will talk about is two comments made regarding my office party. the first one was brought up by dorkus melorkus when she asked me if i got to bring anyone to the party with me. the answer is no and i'm glad. if i don't even really want to go to this function why the heck would i drag another poor soul with me who knows nothing about my job or any of my coworkers. seems like torture to me. the second comment was brought up by some friends when they were surprised to find out my office party was on a weekday and not a weekend. let me get this straight ... i already see my coworkers 5 days a week and now you are asking me to spend a weekend with them. pfffft. NO WAY. i'm just saying.

me sleepy now .... work is so busy.

i need new music to listen to. sometimes i wish i could quit my job and just work in a music shop spacing out.

Tuesday, December 7

well hello everyone. new wave, i am sorry i have not blogged. it has been 3 months since my last blog. ha. new wave got on my case about not blogging even though i distinctly remember that the new blogging rules were that there were no rules. right?

anyway, it's been busy around here. been travelling a lot in the last 3 months. no new orleans, but i did go to philly, montreal, sf, new york, and chicago. i actually don't mind it bc it's like i'm getting paid to go on vacation!

i finally figured out how to turn on the heater at the apt so rancid girl and i no longer have icicles hanging from the tips of our noses.

also, the other day, i actually used the word "shat" in a sentence.

Monday, December 6

thanks skimmy. i actually watched that one. that whole story arc w/ andy and anne heche is starting to bug. at first she was charming, but now i'm just like grrr. i keep wondering when madison will show up again. last episode was a nice little teaser cuz they had you thinkikng she'd be up there preggers haha. so that prolly means she kept the baby.

well i gotta pay attention in class now....

Friday, December 3

Happy Friday Everyone! Boy it's been a while since I blogged. I did get quite a few threatening emails from New Wave. heh heh.
Hedwig I am so sorry about not responding to your question about what happened last on Everwood. I don't know if you've been watching lately, but the last episode I watched was 2 weeks ago and Ephrom and Amy had sex for the first time. So the show went into detail about how Amy feels losing her virginity, yadiyadiyada. Another new twist is Anne Heche is guest starring on the show. She looks good now, she grew her hair out. She's putting the moves on Andy. But everytime I see her I think lesbian. By the way, how do you claim you're a lesbian...and then later say that you were confused and just experimenting? How can you change your mind like that?
Brad, I agree with you about the basketball fight. That you can't pinpoint and put all the fault towards Artest, the fans, security, etc. Everyone has to take blame for their own actions. It's the fan's fault for throwing the cup in the first place. But Artest should not have jumped into the stand and punch the wrong guy. There should've been security there to escort the guy who threw the cup out right away. And what the heck was Stephen Jackson thinking? As far as the race issue, although it had no merit coming up...are you really that suprised? Whenever there's negative publicity on any black public figure...the issue of race is going to come up.

reading yahoo news during my lunch break and learned this - apparently MSN has created a "blog" type program to rival google's blooger version and AOL's journal version. it will be called MSN Spaces and you can put up your pictures, music and of course blog on it. read the full story here.

on interesting thing i took from the story was only 6% of american adults have created blog while 17% have read them. i'm assuming the rest of the people who do have them or read them are under the age of 21 talking about college/hs life.

i got my latest issue of Giant Robot magazine in the mail yesterday. the artist KAWS was on the cover. pigern quickly recognized it while i went ... what??? i doubt most people know most of the THOUSAND UPON THOUSANDS of artist out there yet their item/work is being priced at some absurd amount based upon what i believe is soley hype. the driving price of an item is the hype/buzz it gets. its like the whole internet company bubble thing back in 1997. i guess it is best put like this - i was in some Giant Robot-ish store in Alhambra with my friend and he commented this store is stupid in which i replied yes it is.
Here's some random musings: The word "blog" is one of the new entries in the Webster dictionary this year. Hurrah for blog! I like that word. It sounds quite funny and can be used as a noun (i.e. She started her own blog today) or a verb (i.e. I am blogging as we speak)!
Paris Hilton (heiress extraordinaire) was seen wearing a shirt that read (front) "Im hot" and (back) "Your not." Oh, if only she was smart enough to know her shirt makes no sense without the necessary apostrophes and conjunctions. (I'm just saying is all...)
The holidays are the most depressing time of year (highest suicide rate) and I read an article about how many Christmas songs are depressed lil' diddies (i.e. Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas). Hm, that gets you in the spirit. I guess on the bright side, you can find out which of your neighbors are the most tacky (i.e. excessive Christmas decorations and lights) and the most lazy (i.e. the length of time it takes for them to clean up their eye-sore displays). In the meantime, I'll just continue to be freaked out each time I drive by the house with four large blowups of Santa, Snowman and Elves. Scary.

Wednesday, December 1

i'm bored. bored at my job even though it is suppose to be busy season, bored with that is on tv, bored with the music i'm listening to, bored bored bored. that pretty much sums up why i haven't blogged in ages. what do i have to say that any of you guys would be interested in.

the holidays are upon us ... oh joy. i could care less. my dad is leave soon to go to china and hong kong for over a month. my mom will be joining him for two weeks. so basically pigern and i will be at home alone for christmas. lucky for us we are chinese and could care less about christmas. i've never celebrated the holiday and i'm not about to start now. no christmas tree, no stockings, no cookies and milk or presents that read "from santa". not then, not now, not ever.

work blows. i work with people who are robots, they have no feelings or emotions and accounting is their life. (i hope to become like them some day).

if you have hours of your life to waste check out these movies:

finding neverland - if you don't cry or tear at the end of the movie you have no heart
life aquatic of steve zissou - funny stuff .. bill murray is the man and remember the interns only share one glock
marie full of grace - a reality for some people

things that bug me so far this month - house of flying daggers ad (you would think i would love the movie), zhang ziyi (she is NOT a good actress people), being tired, my eyes hurting from staring at a computer screen all day, how freaking cold it is, the holidays, christmas music in stores and working.

things that don't bug me so far this month - working, the birth of Christ, taking some time off, disneyland during the holidays, pretty much all the things i'm thankful for and blessed with.

ituning: dream attack - new order
Brrr....what's up with the weather right now?? It's way to cold. This morning, my car had frost on the window. Maybe it'll snow.
