HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Wednesday, November 24

Wow no one else has blogged, oh well. Anyway got back from New Orleans the other day so here is a brief recap:

Day 1: Got in around 6, ate some good southern food, got drunk, two friends yacked..I slipped and fell and broke my collector glass..stupid me..haha...good times...haha..then went to the casino, gambled and won some money.

Day 2: Walked around the French Quarter area, went to "Mothers" for lunch, really good fried food, sooo good! Walked around the riverfront, it was slightly humid but all good. Went on a Ghost Tour that night, our friends hotel was stop #1 on the trip, they didn't think it was that funny. Some high school girls on our tour were impressed with us being from LA and wanted to know if we knew celebs...haha. Afterwards walked down Bourbon street, threw beads to people, drank a little, chilled at a few bars.

Day 3: Went to lunch at a popular place in the French Quarter, then went on a city tour. It was cool but would have been better if we were given a chance to get out of the bus. Anyway the architecture is really cool, and everything is very historical. The city is sinking 2 inches every year!!! Saw the creole side and the american side of the city. Highlights: Anne Rice's house, archie/peyton/eli manning's house, nicolas cage's house, the real world house, D-day museum, city cemeteries, the city park, famous dueling grounds. After the tour we went to the Hornets game. We thought about starting a brawl but decided otherwise. After the game we went to Pat O'Brien's so i could get another collector glass, We drank HEAVILY, i slipped over everything, was basically a walking mess....apologies to all of you who i called! Yeah i don't remember much after that.

Day 4: Woke up with a huge headache for some reason and felt extra crappy. So not fun. Took a taxi to the Broncos/Saints game. At first i was out of it trying to prevent myself from throwing up, but took some advil and got better fast. Broncos kicked ass!!! so i was happy. That night, we went out to a nice steak dinner that sounds really good to me right now.....mmmmm steak. Went back to the casino that night, lost a little but it was okay cause i didn't expect to win.

Day 5: The final day we set up an Airboat tour. Airboats are the kind with the giant fan engine in the back, go about 50 mph and over land and water. It was soooo cool!! Our guide reached in the water and pulled out a gator and let us all hold it. Pretty awesome i thought. Plus the swamp area was really cool too, with all the trees, brush and water it was something i'd do again in a heartbeat. After that we did some quick shopping and jumped on our plane and came home....much fun.

Thoughts: In regards to the basketball fight, i think everyone is to blame, fans, players, and security. Today i learned that the player's union is filing a grievence to reduce the suspensions. Whats annoying is that they say that "White America is not in touch with the Black athlete." I just don't get what that has to do with them jumping in the crowd and throwing punches? can someone help me here? For the most part I don't think anyone of any age/sex/race is really in touch with the life of an athlete. They live in a totally different world that we cannot relate too. Does anyone else have any thoughts about this? Just checking.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Wednesday, November 17

So i said that I would blog so here all you people are...a blog....haha. i leave for new orleans in about 15 hours....sweet. I'm really excited about seeing the Broncos, i am bringing my jersey, hopefully the fans aren't crazy and want to stab me or something. Work has been pretty busy lately, end of the year stuff that everyone is requesting. It keeps me busy. I may be changing jobs in January cause my boss's term as chairman is up, i would like to stay on just as regular staff, but i'm not sure if that is an option or not. I can't believe thanksgiving is just next week. How crazy is that? Soon it will be Christmas, and then bam new year! what happened to this year? Oh well. Infernal Affairs this past friday was pretty cool, although some scenes were confusing trying to watch and read at the same time. Karoke was pretty fun, i don't think my raps really flowed as well as last time, I need to work on that for next time. I shall blog again, hopefully with pictures when I get back from my trip.

Infernal Affairs I .... why is tony so freaking hot. man :)
this week needs to end .. and so does next so i can just get work over with and enjoy a four day weekend or for work people "vacation". ha ha.

this past weekend was pretty liver damaging for me. i went drinking friday and sat. friday was just for fun and sat. was for my homie's b-day. good times even though she yarfed up a storm. it's all good :) awww yea because what is a b-day without puke.

that sat. afternoon i went to the AFI Fest to see infernal affairs with a q and a after with the director andrew lau. that was sooooo awesome. go cantonese/HK peeps. i really love my peeps. ha ha. well not all of them but still.

on sunday i saw the faint at the mayan. i wasn't expecting much for the show but man was it fun. the audience was made up of annoying ANNOYING LA people and freaks. crazy arse freaks. but it was all good because i was there for the music.

so as pigern wrote ... we will be at a screening for the life aquatic with steve zissou the new wes anderson movie and having a q and a with the man himself next monday. fun fun fun :) i'm going to ask him questions like why is rushmore the best movie ever.

ituning: ceremony - new order
I'm seeing Wes Anderson next week. New Wave and I will befriend the fellow, we'll wear yellow jumpsuits and we'll rob a library. Oh yeah! Or maybe we'll just all watch Life Aquatic together.
A few weeks ago the paper had an article about the strong correlation between L.A. drivers and abnormally high blood pressure. And I seriously think I should be worried about my own health. Lately, traffic has been ridiculous. I feel like I need to account for 2x the estimated travel time just because of traffic. Last Saturday I had to drive to Hollywood and not only was the 101 a nightmare, the streets had gridlock. And then today, I had to drive to North Hollywood and again, so much traffic. And it's always in a situation when you desperately have to be somewhere by a certain time. I swear, everyone in L.A. will have a heartache at an early age. I swear!

how i've been feeling lately with traffic ... booo. go see the incredibles.
it is cold .... (shiver). man traffic is killing me ... KILLING ME i tell you. (sigh) i can't take this madness anymore but alas i will suffer through it.

a random link if you have 5 or 10 mins to kill i guess ... some site saying sorry for having bush win.

well new movies are coming out soon ... new good movies. finally. was getting sick of all the crap films they were shoving down my throat.
hello everyone out there. school sucks and work sucks. i wish i could do nothing all day. although i must say that school is less suck than work is suck. my engrish rangurage is good. old news but bush won......................well at least he may actually implement a real TEAM AMERICA, F YEAH! i really wouldn't be surprised if he did, oh wait our military is sort of like them right? blah. so i started hanging out with one of my friends that i hadn't hung out with in a while because dun...dun...dun.....dun............they broke up with their significant other. i hate it when people do that, but alas i have many a friends that disappear when they are with someone, and magically reappear when they are not. it is annoying and bothersome. also on the topic of boyfriends/girlfriends, if you have a friend and you don't like their significant other, is it messed up to tell them that that person is stupid? haha, i wish i could, but i never would. irked? yes i am.

Tuesday, November 9

Today when I was in the elevator, the bloke inside broke out into song. It sort of freaked me out. Everyone knows the social norms of the elevator (i.e. stand facing the doors, talk quietly if at all), so for him to sing rather loudly--not even hum--was quite unusual. But he was singing bjork so I guess it wasn't too bad.

If you haven't already, I highly rec the Incredibles. But go see it in a theater with decent seats because the one I was at killed my back. Owww!

Sunday, November 7

so i guess it's my turn to blog? haha...skimmy i'm still waiting on that synopsis of last weeks everwood...tick tock tick tock!

so this is a really, lame, girl thing, but why is it that i get annoyed when my bf is out there having fun without me and makes it worse by not calling me to say hi? i was talking to my guy friend and he said that the whole 'calling' thing is a girl thing and that it's dumb. i mean i'm glad he's having fun, but the calling thing lets me know he's thinking of me, so that i know when he says "i wish you were here", that he's not just bullshitting me cuz i'm on the phone. blah. and THEN i can't let stupid things like that go and then it gets all bottled up inside and i end up being mad at him, when he techincally didn't really do anything wrong. *shrug*

that pic you put up is scary as hell. makes me think of that book series "left behind"...hehe.

i'm gonna start studying...nice talking to you again new wave! haha

blog people blog! i like reading random thoughts and yours are so much better than my own!

Saturday, November 6

well since there hasn't been a new photo up for awhile i thought this one might be fitting. pick up the issue if you get a chance. (sigh) how depressing ... four more fricking years.

Friday, November 5

Hey everyone, know what sucks...being sick....i have been out of commission (like the karate kid!). Interesting about the election here in Orange County, George Bush got something like 75% of the vote here in OC and Barbara Boxer got something like 55% of the vote. My question is how do these two very different people share votes? My theory is name recognition...oh i've heard of them, so i guess i'll vote for them. It really was weird. I have really enjoyed the rain we have had lately, it makes everything greener, and my lawn is actually growing again. I went looking for dogs last weekend. I found an 8 month old golden retriever but I just checked the website where i saw her at, and her picture was taken down, so i guess someone beat me to it....oh well. Next week is vegas and the week after is new orleans!!! finally!!! sad part is that i'll be missing two weeks of bowling, which i do love, got a 220 last night which is good, but looks pretty sad when your teammates get 235 and 268, darn them!! oh well we are still in first, and thats what really matters right? Today is friday and lately that means get drunk night, i wonder if tonght will be any different?

Did anyone else see the star wars trailer? how awesome does that look!! its only 196 days away...i'm just saying...alright i'm leaving work now

sunshine and milkshakes!

Thursday, November 4

i actually like the colors. very stark and real.

Wednesday, November 3

house has changed .... due to the election and the depressing news ... :(
i too am sad and a little bit surprised. i'm really disappointed in the american population. i also am disappointed in some californians. how did we overwhelmingly pass such an unconstitutional proposition(the DNA database). we also voted against the three strikes reform. i don't understand really. so i was disappointed. one good victory, in my opinion, is the stem cell research prop. i am glad that it passed.

anyway, what this election has just showed me is that americans have succumb to the fear tactics this administration has put on the country. hooray for the sheep....blah. today sux i didn't even wanna get out of bed---a little drastic, but that was mixed with the fact that i didn't want to go to school haha.

i say these things assuming that we can have a rational discussion about politics in this house. hopefully that's possible....
another four more years (sigh) i feel very very sick.

here's what makes me sad ... even with all the lies, no WMDs, the war and the poor decisions bush has made .. bush still had such a large share of the popular vote (at least a 3.7 million difference) compared to kerry. this means more people felt bush was a better choice than kerry ... i'm mind boggled. you know i can never leave calif. because did you see all those bush loving states. wow.

all of this makes me think about that SNL skit (the one where jude law was the host and stupid ashlee simpson ran off stage) where tony blair (judy law) is all amazed that americans still stand by their president even though he lies and tony blair's approval ratings are bombing. amazing.

Tuesday, November 2

hey skimmy...i think it was you, who watches everwood. so i missed it this week and i was wondering if you could give me a quick synopsis of what happened.

interesting things on election day
1. the stem cell research prop might actually pass
2. 6 states have banned gay marriage
3. bush might actually win
4. how divided the whole country is...not just on the presidential election, but even the senate and local issues. maybe people are actually starting to think...

VOTE! VOTE! VOTE!
