Friday, January 30

happy belated birthday on the blogger new wave. skimmy's post is funny, a bunch of "bradley's" hahaha. the post was cool, at least it had a message and it wasn't complaining, like most of mine are. haha cheesy, perhaps, but not nacho cheesy and snickers, hehehe, jk.

hurrah for the weekend has come once again. although nothing comparable to the feast and festivities of MEDIEVAL TIMES!!!!!!! is planned, i'm just glad this week is finally over. work has been a lot more hectic this past week than has been in let me say, oh the entire 11 months i've been there, but that's a good thing, makes me productive at least. now i get to enjoy some nice surfing, and r&r. as far as the superbowl goes, it's going to be a shootout....actually i don't care to watch it.
hope you had a good birthday new wave!!! and have fun at the travis concert tonight!!! that is funny that they thought you were 21 or 22. they must've been "bradleys" because they can't seem to tell what age us yellow people are.

it's been a somber week at work because we had some layoffs. 3 people, but with our film side only being 20 that's 15% of our staff!!! but it sucks because one of the people that got cut was my coworker i was closest to. but you know what suprised me? when i found out there was a possiblity of layoffs, instead of being worried about my job i was wondering how much the severance was and if it was good, i think i would've been kind of happy getting laid off. but of course when i wasn't i was relieved...but what does that mean? it means a) i dislike my job or b) i'm a lazy ass that wants free money. i guess both to a certain extent..hahaha!

but it did make me realize that we're in a good position right now. we're young with no major liabilities like a house payment or kids, so if we did get laid off we won't be as bad off as someone who was married with children and a mortgage. you know how we look back now and wish we were kids again because life was so worry free? well in 10-20 years from now, we'll be thinking the same way about ourselves now. so, i guess my point is that in whatever stage of life you're in, cherish it. this is a pretty cheesy post huh....
thanks for the birthday wishes housemates :) ........

so funny story ... people at my work think i just turned 21 or 22. they said i look really young and i guess i do since i don't wear make up and crap and i dress like a dork but it is funny cause i wonder when i will look my age.

dang that 80's club sounds sweet dorkus. i still want to check out that blue monday one that FTC told me about. i have a lot of stuff i should be working on but i'm kinda of bored of working. i want to leave already.

HAPPY BIRFDAY NEW WAVE!!!! :D

Thursday, January 29

happy birthday new wave girl! yay. the big 2-5.
New Wave - Happy Birthday OLD Woman! Like you said, you are only one year closer to death. You're so morbid!

Darth - Did you see your woman Natalie Portman on the cover of Vogue(?) magazine? She is stunningly beautiful.

Oh yeah last night I went to an 80's club in Orange. It was fun! Here's 4 good reasons:
1) Vanilla Ice - Ice Ice Baby
2) Salt N Pepa - Push It
3) Tiffany - I Think We're Alone Now
4) NKOTB - Step By Step
Including songs from Duran Duran, DM, and the Cure of course.

I love the cheesiness of it all!!!
happy 25th b-day new wave!!!!!!!

hello to the house. well, this past weekend i went to san fran. it's interesting how cities are built so differently. the architecture there is so beautiful. my friend's apartment building use to be an old victorian house and still maintains much of the character from back in the day (i.e. servant's stairs!). plus everything is much more compact than l.a., which is a common out-of-towners' complaint ("l.a. is so spread out. you have to drive everywhere."). it makes more sense to walk or take the public transportation in the city. i like the idea of walking and having everything nearby. but i would still miss driving (even though i'm sitting in traffic most of the time). but i guess there are always pros and cons.
Omigosh can't wait until Spain. Sorry guys, the house is going to hear about this Spain trip until it's over. Haha. Estoy mucho excited. Wow, that was an indication of how bad my Spanish is.

Listening to some Junior Senior. Man that album makes you want to bust out some white boy dance movies. Do the fridge dance, darth!!

today is not my day .... warning: sorry complaining will be done now ....

i wanted to get the cure join the dots box set today. see i actually pre-ordered it but it was not going to come until after jan. 27 and i was like forget that. so i cancelled my pre-order and decided to get it at best buy because it was at a good price.

well i drive all the way to the westwood one (on my lunch break may i add which takes way longer than i thought due to LA FRICKING TRAFFIC) because it is closer to my office and of course THEY SOLD OUT :( so then i call to see if the other best buy near pico has it and of course they have like 5 copies (sigh) but oh well i had already used all my time up.

i just put my box set on hold at the tower near my house and i'll go there after work. but i so wanted to listen it today at work .... man i'm irked, pissed and annoyed. i guess on the plus side i got the new no motiv cd and it sounds okay.

i wish i watched more of american idol but i only caught the last half of tuesday's episode and yesterday i was watching the apprentice. i'm so glad sam got kicked off because he was freaking annoying. that's true that the women flirted their way into getting the gold, but the men were pretty stupid. who pays $50 for a leg waxing? and they were just really unorganized and considering they went online they didn't do much research. i thought the men should've won the first challenge with the lemonade stand. only because i thought the men worked better together as a team. but of course the women used their sex appeal to sell the lemonade too.
don't you think american idol should do some kind of mental screening before they decide to broadcast some of the auditions? only because i think keith from the last season, although i was busting up laughing, seemed like he might have a couple screws loose...really. and the guy that sings "she bangs" looks like he might be mentally handicapped. it seems wrong for fox to broadcast that. well, maybe they're really not.
so much fun to be on the phone with the phone company for an hour. this is the 4th or 5th month in a row where i've done this. the best was my 3 hour phone call. whoa happy days. at least this is the last time i have to do so, unless they screw up again. okay so american idol is sweet. my favorite was the military/rap korean guy on monday. i think that is the moment that defines why i am korean. it brought the level of my pride up another notch. haha. oh yeah and just thought i'd burst some bubbles, but hong kong supastah is my friend's cousin's friend, follow that, and he really isn't a fob. haha. does anyone watch the apprentice? the guys team is getting their asses beat in, but seriously, they were the better negotiators, what the girls did was not negotiate, they were flirting. i thought that was pretty weak. oh well they still won, i guess. damn reality t.v. at least american idol is almost over for me, i never watch past the auditions. hey anybody see that one guy from hawaii in the clips that sings she bangs, he reminds me a lot of nkotb rule, hahahahahha.
one eighth of me would like to wish you a HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEARS!!!!

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR'S

has anyone in the house been following the democrat circus aka the primary and stuff. i personally haven't because i know bush will most likely win another term ... sad but realistic fact. however i did get the chance to catch howard dean and his insane speech where he named every state and let out this rebel yell. ha ha the man is crazy. oh and for anyone who watched the state of the union address last night you could have done this drinking game along with it.

spinning: nothing
so american idol is back to grace us again. hehe. i SAID i wasn't gonna watch it this season....but...well i've been with it since the beginning so i can't give up on it hehe. and everytime i ask...why do people who can't sing THINK that they CAN?! and to make matters worse, they diss on the judges, who have made millions doing what they do. i think that the judges know a little bit more than any contestant. ANYWHO...time to study.

dorkus, could i borrow the bens ep? puhlease?
okay house, luckily most of you do not have to witness first hand the excitement new wave is expressing about the cure playing coachella. it's pretty scary stuff.
this past weekend i was lame and watched the newlyweds marathon on mtv. jessica is pretty vacant in the noggin there.

Sunday, January 18

Friday, January 16

darth, i just wanted to inform you that new wave and i are part of the "We Hate Darth" club. damn why do you get 8976 days off a year???????

listening to: The Bens EP ( = Ben Lee, Ben Kweller, and Ben Folds) Love it!
are we not supposed to be eating meat right now? oh well if you gotta go, go eating something tasty....so yeah this "scare" has not made me stop and i haven't died yet everyone just wanted to let you all know that. vegas was fun times, didn't lose as much as pretty much everyone else there, which is good, still lost, but not as much. i'm feeling pretty good right now i had a client come in earlier this week, who makes me feel really good about the job i do. i know i bitch and complain a lot about stupid tenants and their stupid request....but when one comes around who makes you smile and enjoy your job its all worth it. I'm also feeling really good at work cause i'm ahead of schedule right now and everything is neat and orderly which is really rare for me, can i do the same to my bedroom? fyi: dorkus/new wave i have another review in about 15 minutes, where they are going to give me another week off. hahaha.......

crappy that i'm listening to mostly cause they get stuck in my head:
Ian Van Dahl - Castles in the sky
the liz phair album (this one doesn't annoy me as much)
Evanescence - Hello (stop laughing)
NOFX - Liza and Louise (its old but still good)
Welcome to the Jungle - the BMC connection (its way better than GNR.....haha)

Wednesday, January 14

I miss meat. Mad cow scare - why won't you go away? It's not like anyone in the U.S. has died from this. Or have they???
haha hedwig, sorry i misinterpreted that. it's either going for an MBA or for a DPT. but i dunno yet, i'm indecisive.

hey house, you know what's really fun? let's say that you finish an hour's worth of work, and then your boss comes in and makes you take a look at something else on your computer, but when you open up that file it closes the one you were working on and it closes automatically, making you repeat what you have been working on for the past hour. yep fun times. this sucks.

music of the month club:

bad brains - pay to cum
descendents - silly girl
screeching weasel - the science of myth
jack johnson - taylor
nofx - clams have feelings too
bob marley - redemption song
the samples - ocean of war
kansas - dust in the wind

Monday, January 12

i went to see lotr: return of the king. it was so great. sam is my hero.
and to all the weirdos out there who thought the film was too long or too boring, what are you talking about? haha.
okay, as for some of the tunes i have been listening to at the moment,
- rapture: house of jealous lovers (dance, dance, dance!)
- elefant: bokkie
- endochine: without love
- ladytron: discotraxx
- the faint: glass danse
- x: los angeles
- jesus and mary chain: just like honey
- rancid: blackhawk down
- cat power: free
- death cab for cutie: sound of settling

Sunday, January 11

i was told by a good friend this weekend that our blog page is just filled with us whining and complaining ... i mean if we had a phone number for the house it would be 1-800-we-bitch. ha ha. which is fine because that is what this page was created for :) but we could talk about other things. so this year i'm going to come up with ideas and topics that we can discuss (let's see how long this is going to last ... ha ha).

i've been kinda of in a dry spell with music aka i hate everything but the CURE. :) so i am trying to expand my music taste ... after hearing this suggestion from pigern that her friend does i thought i would bring it to the house .... basically make up a list of songs you are currently listening to for the month so that others in the house can dl it and see if they might like it.

(this list is subject to change as the month goes on)
raveonettes - remember
cure - to wish impossible things
get up kids - overdue
charlatans uk - love is the key & you're so pretty - we're so pretty
the network - money money 2020
alsace lorraine - dreams i can't control
pixies - wave of mutilation
kylie - fever & burning up

saw lord of the rings tonight ....... so good. i think i cried more this time than the first time i watched it. i love sam .. he is so good and pure and loyal ... (sniff).

oh and does anyone in the house like foreign films ... i'm all about the hong kong ones :) just wondering.

spinning: nothing

Wednesday, January 7

new year's resolutions:

1. get a new job. get a new job. get a new job.
2. travel more. (viva la spain! espana?)
3. read more classic literature. really.
4. drink more water. it's good for you.
http://uploads.newgrounds.com/69000/69909_deliver.swf

this is funny. the fwd subject was: what korean rap sounds like to us white people. very amusing. i do this to japanese songs i listen to. not so much chinese songs just b/c i was trying to learn chinese(both mandarin and cantonese) at the time.
haha no no i meant what program are you going to grad school for? not why. :P
haha, darth you're an ass, your 3rd resolution will never come into fruition. i'm against conformity so i will not conform to the views of you and the likes, i will always love dashboard and good charlotte. man real world is in san diego? i should of auditioned. i would be the boring one that doesn't do anything, but i'd annoy the rest of the cast by having a big bottle of kimchee in the fridge to stink it up, even though i don't really eat it much.

hedwig to answer your question, why grad school? cause either way i go right now for my career plans i have to go back to school. if i stick with what i'm doing, they want me to go to grad school and they're paying so why not, if i decide to go do physical therapy, i still have to go back to school. so that is the reason, also it gives me more time to mess around and go on vacations and stuff, hopefully.

i want to go to vegas :(
elimidate and 5th wheel make me want to punch myself in the face over and over again. I caught some of real world san diego last night, wow what a bunch of winners...mtv certainly knows how to pick them. i can't believe how fast 2003 went, kinda weird thats all.

new years resolutions

1. get in shape - yes i know this is typical, but i've been going to the gym a lot and hopefully i can keep it up.
2. get a new job
3. get mac to stop listening to dashboard confessional and good charolette
4. save more money
5. get a new car.

rave: having two people look at my resume right now, getting ahead in my work, working out, playing the sims, vegas this weekend
rant: the broncos losing, the dodgers signing a crappy player who they don't need, waking up early, traffic starting again.
i hate elimidate and the 5th wheel...they're so dumb! i was stuck at Pep boys and I had to watch BOTH SHOWS!! on Elimidate there were these ghetto ass girls on there and they spent the whole time dissing on each other and not even really getting to know the guy. i didn't get to see who he picked tho. oh well. i do like blind date...that is funny as hell sometimes.

question: what are you going to grad school for mac?

new years resolutions:
1. study more efficiently---or stop procrastinating....this won't last
2. blog more...well on my own blogsite
3. work out at least 3 times a week(i started this before break, but Christmas came and it went out the door)
4. Be more aggressive and speak out more--CONFIDENCE!(work in progress...it's on my list every year)

and that's really all I have time for.

NOT listening to: Dr. Wong's lecture on Antifungals
has anybody been watching the celebrity poker challenge? well i caught an episode yesterday, and super star rock musician scott stapp was on yesterday. you know from the crossover christian mega band creed. well first off he sucks at texas hold em, but the moment of the night came when he lost all his chips and he stood up and as he was leaving says, "I got F***ed." haha that was funny, but not as funny as when he got arrested for drunk driving. man he's my new Jose Canseco for the 21st century.

new year's resolutions:

1. figure out what i'm supposed to do with the rest of my life, i'm almost there...i think...i hope
2. get better at surfing
3. not make fun of people as much, key words (as much), it won't last, i'm an ass.
4. read/learn things that will blow my mind
5. study for whatever test i'm going to have to take for grad school
new year's resolutions:

1. be more geeky / nerdy
2. read one book a month (i know that does not sound hard but it is hard for me to find time)
3. be more open minded about music / groups who are not the CURE (is this possible)

looking forward to in 2004:

1. join the dots - cure b-sides cd coming
2. possible cure tour
3. traveling to either spain, london, dublin but if not then just hawaii

spinning: cardigns - higher

Tuesday, January 6

random blog: why oh why was i watching elimidate? you watch 5 minutes then you gotta watch the rest of the episode to see who gets dumped.

key moment 1:
girl: so tell me about your family.
guy: i come from a nice educated family.
girl: how many siblings do you have?
guy: what do you mean by that?

key moment 2: (girls competing for the guy's attention)
girl 1: i don't wanna kiss on the first date. i don't want to be all easy.
girl 2: it's not called being easy, it's called being smart.
(me: did i miss something here?)

rockin' out to: rock w/ you - MJ

tune in: pennywise - the secret

hello all, hope everyone had a safe and fun holiday last week. got back from london on friday. trip was awesome.

highlights of the trip: virgin airlines is awesome, the saatchi exhibit by the london eye, all the usual sight seeing, portobello market place at notting hill, watching big ben hit 12 on new years at trafalgar square and it starting to rain at exactly the same time, phantom of the opera at her majesty's theatre, seeing and saying hello to jennifer love hewitt at lax (she was on the same flight), i think she wanted me haha yeah right, seeing winston from married with children on a different tv show, and more...

duds of the trip: the airports on both ends were really "fun" to get through for the holiday season, i thought the food was bland for some reason, never got used to the time difference, some of the rude people.

overall it was a great week.

watching the news there and coming back and watching the news here is very depressing. i just love the american press and media compared to other countries and their mediums.

oh yeah, coming back to work after a vacation sucks.

tune out: afi - brownie bottom sundae

Sunday, January 4

I saw Tom from Blink 182 at the Petsmart by my house. He was with his wife and daughter. They are such a punk rock family. Now my life is complete. J/K.

Friday, January 2

happy new year house. i had a good new years eve. was drunk with friends and the red head so it was a rockin' good time haha. i've been bored lately...but school is just around the corner so I won't be having that problem for long...except when i'm in class. woo hoo. we start head and neck this week...i'm scared to dissect a cadaver's face.... :(

Thursday, January 1

happy new year everybody. hope everyone's new year's eve celebrations were festive and fun. mine was sort of lame. i went with some people around the hollywood area and found that losers and lame-os hang out in the hollywood area. basically people i would rather not talk to, be in the same room with, or have to interact with in any shape or form. i guess it would have been better if i was pissed but i wasn't because drinks cost money and i have none. anyway, next year i will either stay in and ignore the holiday all together or select one place/party that does play host to l.a. losers.

HAPPY NEW YEAR'S

HAVE A GREAT 2004 EVERYONE :)
