to start dorkus that justin song is craptacular......hope you are feeling better hedwig that plane story/poem was beautiful and depressing at the same time. sorry i haven't blogged in a while been super busy at work, what? a govt worker busy, impossible, right new wave? well this stupid lady who was scheduled to conduct interviews for me hasn't come in the past 2 weeks cause her shoulder is bothering her, hmm last time i checked one could still interview with a couple of aches and pains, anyway this lady is so stupid and dumb and keeps getting her "doctor" to write in notes saying that she can't come in....I seriously want to punch her in the face, she has but me a week and a half behind.....why can't we fire her right now you ask? supid o.c. union. This is one fo the reasons why i don't support some unions, they keep stupid people like this around.....arghh getting angry.....anyway i'm currently reading a book called LAbryinth...which basically links death row records and the lapd to both the deaths of tupac and biggie, its really sad to see how much corruption there has been and how much was never even brought up by the lapd higher ups.....and that these two murders are still unsolved basically becuase the cops in charge never want them to be :(
i think there's only so much you can put up with, no matter how good of "friends" people can be. there are probably many ways to go about handling this, but you really can't change a person's character or personality. that is just who they are. you can try to wait on this person to see if they change, but that probably won't happen. you could confront the person on the issues that bother you, but they may take it the wrong way...then become upset, because they don't know that what they are doing is bothering you or even think anything is wrong in the first place, and wonder why would they have to change. or you could just ignore the person, but in the long run you'll have to probably explain yourself anyways, so i guess it may be better to just talk about it with the "friend" and maybe there may be a way for the parties involved to remain friends, and if not, then oh well, at least you did something about it.

i'm really gald you are feeling better hedwig ... :) i don't think it was your blog alone that was depressing and please don't feel like you can't ramble here ... because you can ... i just thought the entire house was starting to feel a bit sad in general.
as for your shady friends/couple, yup they sound as bad as my one friend. the funny thing is she didn't use to be like this so i guess a part of me thinks the old her will come back.

sorry for the depressing posts dorkus...wasn't intentional.
anyway about flaky friends. i have a couple of friends...who are actually a couple...and they have been shady on countless occasions. i have no choice but to stay friends w/ them for the following reasons: a)the guy has a car and he is our only means of transportation for grocery shopping, going to the movies etc. and b) they're 2 out of the 3 friends that i have in philly that i hang out with...the other one being my roommate and c) well they HAVE been there for me sometimes but they're so damn SHADY or they don't know how to communicate or sOMething. like once they were like, "oh hey let's go out tonight, what do u wanna do?"...and we decide to go to the movies...but then later on when i called them to see what was up, they said they didn't feel like going...WTF you invited us?! Then this other time, we were in NY for a friends bday...they dropped me and my roomie off at the club and they were gonna park the car. We were waiting for 15 min at the door...then decided to go in....still no sign of them. Neither of us brought our phone into the club. Then I use my other friend's phone to call them and they're like "uh...i don't think we're gonna go in"...at this point we had already spent 13 each to get into the club and get coat check. And we had our stuff in their car. Long story short, we told them to just drop our stuff off and we'd stay w/ our friend who's bday it was....I think they were on their way back to queens when I called...dumbasses. So not only did they assume that we had a place to stay or a ride but they assumed that our friend could accomodate us. So annoying. I didn't really answer the question...but I would suggest just don't call them and ignore them. And then if they make a big deal about you being distant, then tell them why they're inconsiderate. hehe. ok that's it for me. I went to SD this weekend and that helped a lot...so no depressing blog. :)

well i haven't really been saying anything lately but .... where is everyone. i know nick edney is extremely busy at work (supposely, hee hee) and t.w.i.f.o.s.l.y is doing interviews up north for med. school but what are you other people doing ... i'm looking in your direction darth bronger and NKOTB RULE ...
moving on some of you might not understand what dorkus melorkus was talking about earlier so here is the full story: earlier this year dorkus and i purchased a clipper game package from a friend name "jane doe". though we were unsure when we would receive it we were both confident enough to know it would be sooner than later ... BOY WERE WE WRONG. the game packaged was only good for certain games - 11 games to be exact of the entire clipper season. well when "jane doe" had sold the tickets to us in jan. at least 6 of those 11 games had already passed so first off the product was half used up. then getting the tickets from her became an impossible task. things were always coming up on her end and made it extremely difficult for us to ever get them. after all both dorkus and i do work a full work week and we don't have as much free time as people who don't. finally when we do get the tickets there is ONLY ONE GAME left that we can go to and dorkus is out of town that weekend and i can't go. so in conclusion the coupon book/ticket thing ended up being WORTHLESS. well naturally we both didn't feel it was right for us to pay for it ... to make a long story short i ask the same question dorkus brought up ... how do you cut ties with someone who you know is shady. after all if she is willing to treat us like this then i guess she really doesn't consider us good friends ....
side note: the house has become really depressing lately and i hope for everyone's sake there are some good things moving in your lives ... i'm not saying i'm the most positive person in the whole wide world (far from it) but i do believe to every horrible, rotten, terrible thing comes some good or at least something decent ... things in life just take time to work themselves out, even if at the moment you feel lonely, hurt, sad, depressed, worried or stressed.
on the beat box: nothing ... just quiet :)

all right you people seriously depress me! not that i don't care about war and love lost and sucky coworkers...you guys make me want to cry about something different everytime i read a blog (kidding). i will try not to be as sad and depressing....
my question for you is: how many times do you allow a "friend" (let's call her "Jane Doe") to flake out on you? new wave and i have this "friend" who has become very shady and rude and demanding and flaky recently..she has flaked on us at least five times - we wonder why we even put up with her...so what do you think - at what point do you "break up" with a friend? and how do you do it w/o exchanging cross words and flying fists? Do you just ignore them and delete their phone number out of your address book? Do you bring up all the things that bug you about this person? Breaking up surely is hard to do, but if I can avoid seeing this person again, I will. Let me know your thoughts on this if you don't mind.

hedwig... your blog made me tear. but i don't know how much that means because i'm very emotional (just ask new wave). just the other day i saw some protesters on fairfax and this made me tear... thinking about their passion against the war and how little it means to bush because he is going to do what he believes is in the best interest of the people. we are powerless.
anyway, i hate most (if not all) romantic comedies because they just make me feel bad. isn't that weird? aren't people suppose to feel happy after they see the two people finally together. yay! happily ever after right? but it's usually just a fairy tale and not true in this sad, depressing world.
so, i'm listening to idlewild in my car on my way to work and one of the lyrics is "can you tell me ten words that you use to describe the world to people?" and this made me think... what could be the definitive ten words? because the world is so complex and language itself is so limited in scope and meaning. i mean how could you describe the world with words that could encompass what people rant about on this blog? and everything else going on... the threat of war... the failing economy... heartbreak. hm, bit of a tangent eh?
okay, last thought: so my friend and i are venting about our current annoyances, which turned out to be both regarding lame coworkers. and it's totally trivial because it's just work, "don't let it get to you"... but it does. and i'm so petty but i think it's unfair that i'm not getting the cubicle i wanted after i got promoted. and instead it's going to the other guy i don't like. but it's so trivial and minor.

hedwig, i don't know you, but hope you feel better, for what it's worth.
so i'm sitting here in Mexico. the drive was kind of nerve-racking because it was my first time coming down by myself, and i was afraid i was going to get lost, but i made it. so i get to head back up to la this weekend, i'm excited. i've pretty much been keeping myself entertained by playing basketball at some local park with filipinos, hispanics, and african americans, and one white guy that thinks he's african american, much like darth thinks he is. so i'm beginning to think that i may be the only asian person in chula vista, which i totally don't mind, but it's odd coming from fob city u.s.a. also known as alhambra and the rest of the sgv. sorry this blog was me just rambling on about my life, it's boring, maybe i should have let you read this sentence before everything else, but too bad.

"planes don't stop for love"
Romantic comedies are what we hope our love lives will be like. Boy meets girl. They seem perfect for each other, fall in love and all is well. Boy finds tragic flaw in girl and girl leaves boy, all accompanied by a soundtrack that conveys the sadness and longing of the parties involved. Girl decides to leave town and boy realizes that the tragic flaw doesn't matter anymore and he loves her. Boy runs to the airport, pleads with airport personnel to stop the plane. In a swirl of romance they stop the plane. Boy finds girl and they kiss passionately...riding off into the sunset...happily ever after.
But planes don't stop for love. There is no soundtrack for your life because while the joy may seem to last for a second, the pain will undoubtedly last longer than three minutes and thirty seconds of your life. You don't know if the boy will come and chase you down at the airport. And furthermore, if he did, would you even stay?
They never really show what happens after the kiss. Maybe all the passengers get pissed and kick the boy and girl out; girl gets upset because she had a medical school interview and that flight was the last one out, ruining her chances of getting into her dream school. It's real life. It's hard, it lasts much longer than two hours, you can't control it and you never know what's going to happen. So next time you watch a romantic movie, give yourself a reality check and think back to when you read the cynical ramblings of a girl sitting "alone" in an airplane with no music, for four hours, waiting for her pain to subside.

currently listening to: ace troubleshooter - yesterday
it's nice to move out, but not when you have to relocate away from your friends and loved ones. but it's something i had to do i guess, either that or i would've been a bum living at home with no job still. well the new job hasn't been a job really for me. i just sit on my butt staring at my computer screen, but today no one was at the office, so i ended up watching movies on my computer. but i'll be working for real tomorrow, so don't hate.
regarding tears of the sun, it's supposed to be bruce willis' best action movie since the die hards. but i dunno.
