okay so i had a pretty busy show weekend. thursday night saw the raveonettes w/ new wave. great show, tepid response from audience. but what i really want to mention was how GAWDAWFUL one of the opening bands was, and i'm pretty sure new wave would agree although i did have to slap her hands when she was politely clapping after one of their songs (i was surprised she was clapping bc well, it's new wave, and we all know how she is w/ new music.) anyway, i think there are different levels of suck, especially when it comes to opening bands. this group, Kittens for Christian, fell into the "worst band ever in musical history, so much that it's making my ears bleed" category. really. the lead "singer" decided to mumble, whine, and wail his way through the entire set, and i didn't understand a single thing he said. i'm not exaggerrating either. from far, they sounded even worse, like they needed to be put out of their misery. or maybe it's us who needs to be put out of our misery. so yeah, if you want to punish yourself for being bad, or if you need to repent your sins, go see them. and you will be sure never to do a bad thing in your life.....(just for kicks, i got one of their CD samplers so i can play them for my friends so their ears too can bleed. it's all about evenly distributing the pain.)

friday night was beulah at the troub, and i can't even describe how much i love them and how great the show was. it was a pretty long set, and they played to a packed (very enthusiastic) house. it was so so great. i don't know, if it's possible, i think i'm in love with them.

saturday night, dressy bessy at spaceland. pretty good show. afterwards, a group called Electric Eel Shock from Tokyo performed. they were totally energetic and funny and so japanese!! man, can't wait until i get the chance to go to Tokyo.

yeah, that's pretty much it. waiting for belle and sebastian and deathcab releases on tuesday. yahooey.
