(M) The Philadelphia Story. (George Cukor, 1940) Grade: B+

Thoughts: Philadelphia heiress Tracy Lord (Katharine Hepburn) is about to marry her second husband George Kittredge (John Howard). However a few days before the wedding, her ex-husband C.K. Dexter Haven (Cary Grant), reporter Macaulay Conner (James Stewart) and photographer Elizabeth "Liz" Imbrie (Ruth Hussey) show up. Macaulay and Liz are there to do a story about a high society wedding while Haven is trying to seek revenge against his ex-bride or does he have other motives? The film was witty and clever and had superior acting. They just do not make movies like they use to. I think Katharine Hepburn is an amazing actor with such strength and character.
