this weekend i went to la with pigern and was utterly disgusted. first stop was the sawtalle area where Giant Robot store one and two are. i like GR a lot but i realized half the stuff they sell there is the stuff i saw in japan. ha ha. and i found it odd a lot of white people shop there, like a lot. it was just strange cause you know they are thinking "oh look, nice novelity oriental crap to put in my million dollar home even though i have no idea what it means and i'm just buying it for the sheer fact of its oriental value." one good thing was i got to try crepe to go, this place that eric has been raving about. it was actually quite tasty but i think i ate it too fast cause i got a small tummyache.

next stop was jetrag on la brea. oh my goodness that store so irks me beyond belief. grrrrr. so let me get this straight, they sell poor homeless man clothing for 50 bucks a pop. WTF PEOPLE ... SERIOUSLY W-T-F. i don't care if it is "trendy" or "vintage" or whatevers. it is an entire store devoted to being cool without actually being cool cause that would be not cool if people knew you were suppose to be cool. i could not stand being in there so i went outside where i sat on a .... A BENCH until pigern was done. it was funny cause while sitting there i heard a guy and girl talking next to me in japanese. so feeling bold and slightly bored i asked if they were from japan. they said yup. apparently they were in the states studying english at some school in sd. they come up to la to hang out and shop cause they like stores like jetrag. yea so i talked to them for all of 5 mins. that was neat.

last stop for the day was melrose. i actually really like melrose cause there are some good random shops there that spark my interest. however, they have changed some of the stores there, which kinda of sucks. in conclusion ... I HATE "TRENDY" LA.

on another note everyone should go see love actually and shattered glass. both very good movies but in different ways. love actually is more for girls but shattered glass is just more a thinking movie or it gets you wondering.

spinning: pernice brothers - not sure what track but i can't wait to see them next month :)
