(M) Starbucking (Bill Tangeman, 2007) Grade: C
This documentary follows Winter, a man whose goal is to visit all the Starbucks in the world. Why? Well, unlike Super Size Me, it isn’t for a sociological reason to benefit society. It also isn’t a commentary on globalization, mass consumption, etc. No, Winter just wants to visit every single Starbucks coffee shop to do something different. His strange personal goal is ultimately pointless, and those who admire him for what he is doing (which is never really clear) are equally strange. It would have benefited from a shorter running time, because the novelty of it all runs out fairly quickly. Here’s his personal Web site.

with a new starbucks popping up almost daily i think this is a goal that he can't possibly acheive.

They currently have about 12,500 stores. The company goal is 40,000. They already have deals worked out that will open one new store in Britain every week for the next 10 years. This guy should just give up now.

Oh my gosh! 40,000! He's spent 8 years doing this, so he might die not reaching his goal.

I like how Pigern told me he has a cup of coffee at every Starbucks he goes to and how jittery he is. Ha ha that is awesome.
