(M) The Conformist

This movie is based on a novel about a man who feels so different inside that he wants to try to conform to the most normal person he can be in society. The film is set in Italy during the time of Fascism and the main character is a fascist. It's an interesting story but what is amazing is the cinematography. The film is shot so incredibly that it makes me want to watch all the films this cinematographer did, however he's done TONS! The main character has married the most normal girl he could and sets off to Paris on a secret mission to kill his beloved teacher who is an anti-fascist. I can't speak enough about this movie visually though, it's amazing.
