(B) The Captain and the Enemy (Graham Greene, 1988) Grade: B
Greene’s last novel is a mystery adventure about a young man trying to track down his adoptive father, The Captain, in Panama. Set against this story line is a theme about the true nature of love. The story itself was alright, and I was curious to know how the mystery would unravel, but nothing of real interest here.

(M) The Notorious Bettie Page (Gretchen Mol, 2005) Grade: B
Notorious is an entertaining film that gives some background on the pin-up queen, though Page is presented as a saint-like character who is completely innocent of the controversy behind her photographs. Mol gives an excellent performance, but I am hesistant to believe that the real-life Page was that much in the dark about the porn industry.
