(M) Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. (Larry Charles, 2006) Grade: B+

Thoughts: Kazakhstanti TV reporter Borat Sagdiyev (Sacha Baron Cohen) is sent to the US to report about the “greatest country in the world”. He brings with him his producer Azamat Bagatov (Ken Davitian) and sets off to learn about America. Borat is comical as a character because he is curious to learn and he comes off non-threatening. I think the scariest parts of the film was watching ignorant, racist, bigot Americans tell Borat what they really think. The funny part is now many of those individuals are suing Sacha Baron Cohen claiming they were mislead into thinking what the movie was all about.
