Thoughts: I've wanted to see a good movie for a while now so I was really pleased about The Departed. The film had solid acting all around, good action and a great storyline, which was taken from the Asian film Infernal Affairs. Apparently there have been TONS of comparisons between the two films, however, I do not think it is fair to compare them. After all, it is the same story, just different styles of presentation and execution. I hope Scorsese gets some recognition for this movie but I doubt it. He is such a talented director; it is ridiculous he has not won an Oscar. Leonardo was amazing and HOT, as always. Matt Damon was not bad but I enjoyed Mark Wahlberg's performance a lot. One thing to note is they changed the ending of the film basically to fulfill Hollywood’s vision of a happy ending. If I was asked which movie I like more I would say Infernal Affairs but not by much.

What would have been SHOCKING is if you had rated teh American version higher than teh Asian version. Had you done that I'd claim imposter!!!
My parents saw the movie and said it was terrific and VERY violent.
Ha ha yea let's be honest here ... everything Asian is better :) OH YEA.
Yea it was violent but eh it is Scorsese. Hello the man did Goodfellas. What a great film.
aw they changed the ending? wack. the ending was like the cherry on top. but good to know that the americans didn't butcher the movie.
