(G) Belle & Sebastian with LA Phil, openers The Shins. (Hollywood Bowl, Los Angeles, July 6) Grade: A

Thoughts: Since I got to leave work early and I’m so close to Hollywood, I was at the Bowl pretty early. I took my seat and chilled for an evening of great “twee” music. Up first was The Shins. Aside from their Garden State tracks I was not too familiar with their work. I got most of their catalog from Pigern but they really didn’t do anything for me. They are fun and light but nothing special in my book.

Next up Belle & Sebastian backed up by the LA Philharmonic Orchestra. What a truly amazing performance. The LA Phil really enhanced some of Belle & Sebastian tracks. It was beautiful and magically to watch. Stuart was great and I love Mr. Jackson in his suit. In addition, I enjoyed how crazy it got at the end of their performance with everyone rushing the stage.

OH MY GOSH like I EVEN HAVE TO FRAKKING answer this question. Good grief. Just because I went and bought ever magazine that had Thom Yorke on the cover and rushed to Tower to pick up the his new "solo" project and have his album cover as my desktop and reald the articles and realized how much more I love the band ... well I think you know the answer to your question but if not it is Radiohead.

On a side note the stupid photos are not loading on Mozilla so try to view it in IE.
