(M) The Phantom of the Opera (Schumacher 2004)

I thought this was a wonderful interpretation of the musical. I never really liked the musical all that much, but the movie allowed for so much more and I was able to appreciate it on another level. Emmy Rossum(Christine) is gorgeous and charming, Gerard Bulter(Phantom) is HOT even with his mangled face. I'm telling you, that scene where he first takes her down to his lair is hot haha. I'd stay with him over Raul anyday! Mini Driver(Carlotta) was funny and stole a few scenes. The film was well made and I gave it a minus because I don't particularly like the plot. Music, as always was great. Unlike RENT, this is a musical that was much better on screen.
