why are the fires so terrible. it breaks my heart. so sad. so freaky sad.

why is it so dark driving home at night now ... why oh why. boooo.

so i guess i should write about my trip to japan. so here it is in a nutshell, a long nutshell. got to japan at night and went to eat dinner at some random restaurant cause we had no idea where we were. it was nice but expensive. little was i to learn ... EVERYTHING IN JAPAN is expensive. the next morning got up and went to shinjuku which was a great way to see modern japan at its best. i went mad shopping there and i don't even really shop. they have these stores there called 100 yen shops which are equal to our 99 cent stores. they were pretty neat. i hit up a lot of random stores as well as tower and hmv. after that i took the subway to ginza which is the beverly hills of tokyo. there are tons and tons and tons and tons of fancy stories there like the Louis V. store, Hermes, and Gucci. really expensive stuff ... it was beautiful at night.

the next day we had a small half day tour which was cool cause they took us to the tokyo tower which is only a bit taller than the effiel tower, the imperial palace where the emperor and his family live although you only seen them twice a year - Jan 2 and Dec. 23, and the senso-ji temple in asakusa which had this interesting row where you could do random shopping. later that day we went to shibuya which is this totally youth oriented place ... very young and lots of teenagers. that was pretty interesting and of course more shopping was done.

the next day we went to harajuku which is a very young and trendy place. it reminded me a lot of melrose but the japanese version. ha ha. the best part of harajuku was SNOOPY TOWN. oh my gosh i love that place. how rad is that is, seriously now people. a whole store with all snoopy stuff .... so cute :) hee hee. we also went to akihabara but only for a bit. that is computer geek nerd central. everything you ever wanted for a computer or every thought about is there and more. sheesh.

the next day we didn't have time to really shop cause we were leaving for hong kong. it was raining the day we left which was funny cause the day we arrived it was raining as well but it never rained when we were actually there. i found that to be a blessing. we ate a lot of sushi and noodles in japan which tasted excellent but i must admit i'm a bit tired of it now. in addition, i had some asahi japanese beer which was very light but very tasty. i tried some of my mom's sake and i must admit i am not a fan. as for the japanese people .. man where do i even start. they are all very polite and friendly but they know VERY LITTLE english so sometimes it got hard to try to get around the city :(. ha ha oh well. the men ALL wear suits ... seriously ... they look like robots or something. ha ha. and the women are very femine and made up. nice outfits with a full face of make up and hair done. that was kinda of cool. as for the youth japanese kids ... they are a totally different breed. they are so into the western like hip hop, NY, brooklyn culture. it was pretty odd to see. the guys all dressed in backward baseball caps and baggy clothes while the girls had brown hair and like orange tan skin. some weird shite but the best part was how jacked up their teeth were ... ha ha wow ... that just blew my mind. cause i mean they would look all cute but then they would smile and it was like YIKES. hee hee.

moving on to hong kong ... man what can i say .... I LOVE HONG KONG. so very very much. not sure why and i know some people have expressed to me they did not enjoy HK and that's fine cause that is more hong kong for me to love :). yea we were there for two days and that mainly consisted of eating and shopping and more eating. the dim sum there puts mpk to freaking shame is all i have to say about that. the food there is soooo good. i'm sure a lot of you don't care too much about the HK so i won't go into detail but i'm slowing becoming a fob. (hanging my head in shame) i'm totally into the movies there. i got infernal affair on dvd there and i really wanted hero but it was not in the right dvd format. we are region 1 here and the uk and asia are region 3. i just love any movie tony leung is in though so go figure. okay better stop ... the fob is coming out of me. one thing i would like to note is the use of words there - bathroom = toilet, clubbing = disco and vacation = holiday. i love it. like you ask where the bathroom is they will give you a blank stare but if you say toilet they know exactly what you are talking about. and the disco part is SWEET. ha ha disco ... man that cracks me up.

hey dorkus melorkus you are going to love this .... so the day we were leaving they were having like an indie band festival in HK called rockit and guess who was playing on sat. ...... ELECTRIC EEL SHOCK .... awwwwwww yea. :) i loved that.
