hi everyone. just got back from my trip to berkeley. the trip was a bit of a nightmare... in terms of the airport. i can't believe the amount of security for my flight, which is only an hour and in the same state. a terrorist wouldn't make as much of an impact on that plane. i don't know... i just wouldn't think a local, small trip like that would require the level of precaution the airline took. there were even signs that read 'don't joke about terrorism.' anyway, besides the ordeal of travelling, i really enjoyed being up north. people seemed a lot more aware of the situation in iraq. you couldn't turn anywhere without seeing signs for peace and ones reading 'no war in iraq' or 'no blood for oil.' people even sewed on their own sayings ('drop bush, not bombs'). in san fran there was a huge peace rally and 200k people showed up. people donated blood and received a symbolic tin of oil.
the last night i was there went sour though because my friend and i were forced to wait outside the fillmore... her roommate got backstage passes to see interpol and we were her ride. she made us wait for an hour and then decided she was going to the after-party. let's just say that negative experience made me harbor hostile feelings toward interpol. tossers.
