pigern: hello everyone. hope vegas was fun. london has been quite enjoyable so far. although the plane ride was extremely long and tiring. i watched crossroads on the plane. hee hee. it is quite a bad movie. so bad it's good... no still bad. hah hah. my anxiety regarding complete isolation have been relieved, as the students in my group are quite friendly and there are some students from other schools besides ucd. today we went on a sight seeing tour through london and saw all of the famous spots, such as big ben, tralfalger square, and the buckingham palace. we then took an extensive tour through the tower of london, where past monarchs imprisoned criminals. it also holds the crowned jewels which are carefully guarded. i have much reading to do and catch up on but hope all is smashing with everyone.
p.s. small differences i have noticed: there are no paper towels or toilet seat protectors in the loos (as they call bathrooms). they use the air dryer method or a towel roll. also, the traffic lights turn red, then yellow, then green so the cars know it is almost their turn.
